Reviews
Write a ReviewI can't tell the difference from before or after this work. A small amount of debris was removed from the roof, but the majority of the algae growth remains. I would recommend that anyone thinking about this type of roof treatment just pass, it doesn't do very much.Â
Thank you for the feedback. We feel the best process for the roof service is our Homemasters Bronze level. Process includes: Blowing off the lose roof debris, cleaning all the gutters and downspouts and treating the roof with zinc. When the rain comes it will wash the zinc into the roof and kill the algae the Moss grows on. Depending on the house and the environment this process can take from 3 weeks to 4 months. It is our professional opinion to have roof maintenance done once or twice a year to remove all he debris rather than pressure clean then wait two years and clean again when all the debris and moss are showing the roof is already damaged. This does not instantly remove the moss as would if we pressure wash a roof. We do pressure wash roofs when a customer is in need of instant removal, It is important to understand that pressure washing can be hard on a roof and most shingle manufactures void there warranty. It is important to know that if the roof is pressure washed that it is completed with a pressure washer designed for roof cleaning, high volume water low pressure the average cost of a pressure washer designed for roofs is $6,500. I anyone has a any questions or would like to review the best options for roof maintenance please feel free to call anytime Richard Lundstrom 503-639-7700
It was fine. It was the last job of the day the fifth house that day. Tired. I would have preferred for them to caught us earlier in the day wih all teh moss we had on the roof. The expereince guy was very good and worked very hard and fast. Teh young man he had with him was failry new and he wasn't very sure footed about beiuing on a roof. he was a littl emore of a hinderance as ooposed to a help, but being new would explain some of that.
Thank you for the feed back. Richard Lundstrom
Excellent responsiveness, took care of a few minor issues without additional charges. Highly recommended!
Thank You Richard Lundstrom
The gutters are clean. They did a good job and the price was right.
Thank You! Richard Lundstrom
I think that it went well, and we were happy with the service.

The crew was working in terrible conditions - all the gutters were frozen. When the warmer weather (and the rain) returned, one of the gutters was still clogged. After I called to inform them of the problem, Homemasters returned the same week to make the job complete.
Thank You Richard Lundstrom
Three years ago I purchased a roof maintenance certificate from HomeMasters at our local high school auction. At the time the owner, Richard, came out to make sure I was satisfied with the work. Knowing the our shake roof was at the end of its life, I asked for his opinion on how much longer we had on it. He recommended against some of the more expense "maintenance" options but to stick with the basic cleaning as the roof probably only had 2-4 years more before it should be replaced. Right on cue we got a leak in year three. We had a second company do the small repair just to get a comparision. They also advised that the roof needed replacement in the near future. So went out for bid. One contractor didn't show, one showed took notes and then emailed a reasonable bid and roof type viewing references but never followed up, and Homemasters. The sales representatives showed up with an aerial view of the house and complete calcuations for roof replacement, gutter replacement and cost of any types of gutter guards we might want to consider (I had asked about them when I called). They brought sample, explained completed the pros and cons of each type. They left references. A few days later they followed up to find out if I had any questions. I explained that I was a number of weeks out from making a decision. During the interium time, when a special on the after repair service was extended the rep called to let me know that it would also be included in the price and check to see where we were in the process. Once we selected to go with Homemasters, the service got even better. I had explained that the funds to pay for the project were scheduled to be available on a certain date. I left it up to them when to complete the project based on my situation. Since the weather showed a possible break, they called a few days later a set up a time to come. They arrived promptly and announced themselves, even though the weather was not cooperating. The supervisor fully explained the process and when they could start. Since a complete tear off was needed, it was best to wait until the rain halted or slowed down. So all materials were delivered but the workers left to await better weather. Four hours later the break materialized, and 30 minutes later the crew arrived and began work. They completed sections as they went to make sure they could halt if the weather turned. It turned out the best weather showed up on the weekend, so with our permission they worked steadily through the weekend to get a lot of the job finished. Cleaning up as they went, (even offering to dispose of the "pile" of junk we needed to take to the dump) we felt comfortable staying the home as they worked. About 2/3rd of the way through a late snow threatened. They worked long hours each day to make sure the roof was completed before the storm. Gutters and downspout replacement were scheduled in advance to complete as soon as the snow was gone the next week. Every day, they arrived on time, and informed me of their plans. When things needed to change even by 10 minutes, they let me know. After completion the final payment and warranty review process was scheduled at my convenience. I am glad that I have a "life time" warranty on my roof and will probably not need to worry about the issue again, but if I ever have another house that needs a roof I will call Homemasters. They support our community, were a pleasure to work with and did a great job at reasonable price. They definitely exceeded my expecations. I would recommend them to anyone.
Thank You for the great feedback! Richard Lundstrom
I replied to a discount offer through Angie's List. Company called and scheduled an appointment. Crew arrived on schedule and did an adequate job cleaning the gutters and areas surrounding the house. The lead worker pointed out the moss on my roof and offered to personally treat the roof for cash. Said if I went through the company, Homemasters, I'd have to pay more. I found this very unprofessional and declined his offer.
This is helpful information. I apologize. Thank You! Richard Lundstrom
Homemasters put a new roof and gutters on my house about 20 months ago, so I was surprised when a leak developed a few days ago. I had a drip in my chimney area, coming right down on my pellet stove. I called Homemasters as soon as I saw the leak, and they were very helpful and responsive. They said I would hear back from a repairman soon, and I did within an hour. The repairman said he'd be at my house around noon, and he showed up just after noon. The repairman was great. He fixed what he called lower-quality flashing around the chimney and asked me who put my roof on! I told him his company, and he was surprised. He suggested I call the company to arrange a repair. The repairman left, but before I had a chance to call Homemasters the repair showed back up at my house and told me he decided to fix the flashing right then and there! So he fixed it. No need to call the company. The bad news, the flashing was not done correctly the first time. The good news: the company stands behind their work and fixed it without hesitation. NOTE: An update from 2012: There was a leak in my garage has been fixed, at no cost to me. It turns out that the leak was caused by my aging siding, and not the work Home-Masters did, but they fixed it anyway and warned me to have the siding looked at. I must say that they have done an excellent job of standing behind their product.
Thank You! Richard Lundstrom
Their work was perfectly acceptable. Their quality of work matched their price.
