Reviews
Write a ReviewThey actually squeezed me in pretty quickly. I bought it and they were able to squeeze me a week later and they had come and gone without any notice, they cleaned up and it was great. They were just here and then my roof is clean and they had gone. I would use them again in the future.
I bought an Angie's List coupon with Homemasters for $225. Â The guy on the phone with Homemasters told me that he has his roof treated twice a year... I wasn't sure if he was serious or if he was trying to make more frequent customers----but after they treated my roof, the moss turned brown as if they sprayed and killed it, but it never really went away, and indeed I called another company after 6 months. I went back to my previous roofing company, which will treat once every 3 years. Â And there is no moss growth on my roof during those 3 years... I don't even have to think about it. Â Maybe this isn't usual though, and I was just spoiled by a company with a much better treatment process, I dunno. Â You decide base on your past experiences with other companies. Â But if I pay for my roof to be cleaned----even if I use an Angie's List coupon so it costs less than usual----I want it to look clean.
Thank you for the feed back, there are many different ways to maintain moss on roofs. After 25 years of maintaining Homemasters has found that it is better to use a less abrasive system and maintain more frequently, this also allows the lose debris to be removed allowing the roof to breath better. If you deep clean and wait several years it cost a lot more, is harder on the roof system and you still have all the lose debris on the roof during this time. Please feel free to call anytime, Richard
The gentleman arrived on time and was very polite, cleaned the gutters but the debris from the gutters was not cleaned off the deck. I did not expect to find a mess on my brand new back desk. To be fair I was on a conference call and could not check out his work before he left.
Thanks you for the feed back, we will use this to better our service
Richard arrive late and then had to go to Home Depot to find the supplies he needed -- blue tape and sandy latex grout. He finsihed the job within three hours -- regrouting a 16 foot long single line of grout where the countertop and backsplash meet. He also put a latex bead around the kitchen sink. The work was okay, but when the sandy latex grout dried, there were several obvious gaps in a couple of spots which I took care of on my own. We asked Richard to give us an estimate to replace our carpeted bathroom floor with tile. His estmate, which didn't include a new seven foot backsplash for the bathroom,  was more than double the price we paid to get the job done by another company.

Everything went as expected. Good job.
I remember talking to them about not using our debris bin because we had a lot of stuff in the gutters and they did anyway and I remember they scratched up our deck. So I didn't use them again this year. So unfortunately it was not very favorable. I don't think they charged me anything additional other than the big deal amount. The price was fine.

Fine- came without calling or asking
They came in and they did their job. My criticism was that there was no information given by the company at all as to maintenance of the barrels and the proper usage of the barrels. So all they were doing is selling the barrel where I had a larger vision that this company, that was what they were doing, was going to be of some assistance to the home owners, "Here is your barrel. This is how you maintain it" and that didn't happen. So that was disappointing for me. So I would say they were okay. It cost me more than the deal amount of $175 only because I purchased a second barrel when the guy was here. It cost me $350. They cut off the downspouts which was another thing that I wasn't expecting them to cut my downspouts. They cut it down and they put on their little downspouts higher up. That means if I ever want to eliminate that replace that whole downspouts. I wasn't expecting that. I was expecting that they would have something that was a little bit more realistic for the home owner than just cut the downspouts.

It was fine. I were to do it again, I would probably want something more thorough. It's to fix the problem that were currently there, I think that I would probably like that I would do it again to have a general reground. This was just 4 hours, we probably would need about 8 but the guy was fine and the price was fine.

I had previously talked to Lee on the phone about checking the roof for 'soft spots' or anything else that could be a problem. He assured me that was part of the deal I had paid for. In addition when I had talked to him I asked what it would cost to remove some moss that had built up over the years. He said it would be an additional $50. I agreed to that. When Lee arrived around noon on the appointed day, he looked at the front of the roof and not seeing any moss was somewhat startled. I took him around to the back of the house and he told me there was not enough to charge me $50 that he would be willing to do it for $30 -- great deal -- that's why the total cost was $279 instead of the coupon price of $249. Here's my main gripe about the whole thing. The ONLY RESULTS PROVIDED IN A CLOSING STATEMENT was a statement for the extra $30 charge for scraping the moss. I don't have anything stating what condition my roof is in, any soft spots, problems areas, flashing areas that require attention -- nothing! I'm really disappointed. But now I realize why there was only one grade shown on the coupon while the others were greyed out -- very tricky -- not very honest.
Thanks for the feedback, Homemasters is not an inspection company and will not every provide paperwork inspecting a roof, we only provide a professional opinion of work needed to maintain your roof. Dishonest are pretty strong words for a description of a business who provided a great service at a great price. Call anytime Richard
