Write a ReviewThe roofing crew worked hard and fast and completed the tear-off and replacement in 3 days. They cleaned up perfectly. The light tunnels had not arrived in time to be installed during the roofing timeline, so a pair of handymen arrived a week later to install them. We had to be home to determine the location of the tunnels, and they were not able to install one in the interior bath because of the location of plumbing and wiring in the attic and a roof valley. This was the main location we wanted a skylight, so we were very disappointed. If the estimator had looked in the attic when we were negotiating our contract, he might have been able to tell us that ahead of time. I think he had very limited experience with the product. We love our skylights, nothing leaks, just wish we could have put one in that window-less bathroom. The installers broke a picture frame during the install: the company deducted the cost of a new frame from the final bill.

Overall the company provided great service. We had not had our roof cleaned before (we have owned the house for 23 years), and it really needed it on 2 sides of the roof. The roof was really clean when the work was done and I was really pleased at how well the technician cleaned up afterward. The only difficulty was the original contact after the e-mail exchange that the company had received my work order. They did not have a valid phone number to reach me, and I had to contact them to get the ball rolling. However, this could have been my mistake (I was unable to check because I had already deleted the e-mail exchange at that point). I would like to point out that you should have the roof cleaned before you clean your windows. The spray from the roof cleaning impacts the windows.

I had some issues with cracked caulk. They actually taught me how to do it myself, which was really nice! It was definitely worth the price. They stuck pretty close to the three hours allotted and they were here right when they said they would be.

It turned out OK. Â I liked the work they did. The guy said I needed new gutters but I didn't believe them because I've never had any issues with my gutters and he also said the flashing around my chimney was coming loose. Hopefully the work they did was good but I didn't climb up there. I didn't spend anything extra. Normally they charge $50 more if it was over a certain amount of square footage but they didn't charge it to my bill. They were pretty booked out so they came out a month later in November.

It turned out very well. I was very happy with them. They came to the front door and introduced themselves. I offered to give the garden hose to help clean up the gutters. They said, "No." They went up on the roof and cleaned them from the roof; even over the 2-story drop. They used a bucket of water to flush the gutters. Someone went up and looked and said the gutters were cleaned but I question that because the first downpour we had I got a great deal of leaves in all of the downspout clean-outs. But I'm happy with their work. It was necessary for them to throw the material in the gutters out on the ground, but then they went around and raked and blew all of it away. The final cost of the service was $12 more than the big deal amount, there was a $12 cash payment prior to the service.

The service was alright. I ended up getting better guards from another company. I scheduled it then I cancelled it and they didn't get the word so they came out anyway...it happened right after I cleaned the roof so they didn't really do anything for me. It was miscommunication I guess.Â

I originally purchased a Big Deal with the intent of having Homemasters simply repair my gutters because they were not installed properly by the prior homeowner. A rep came to my house and explained that they could do this or also replace gutters and quoted both. I agreed to the pricing for repair and asked them to schedule the work. The next contact I had was a week later when I found ladder marks in my lawn when I returned from work, and a voicemail saying a crew had been to my house that day and tried to do this work, but that they couldn't get the nails out of the soffits without tearing the existing gutters apart. I was OK with the result, but didn't like the fact that they didn't call to tell me they were coming. It would have surpised me to find someone on my roof if I had been home. The rep then came back a few days later and allowed me to choose a new color of gutter. A week later I got a call indicating they would come on Monday and perform the install; they did not do it on Monday, and I received no update. They did do the work on Tuesday. As part of the work, they also re-located one of my downspouts, which I was pleased about -- I considered this an upgrade that they did without charging me extra for the labor to do so. Overall my experience was positive, though they should improve their communcations between the work crews and the customer.
