Write a ReviewI got 4 bids. The salesperson was very informative, didn't want to sell me more than I needed. Loved that! They were completely reliable. The only down side was that the owners assured me they could roof during the rainy season as long as they had a dry day to take the roof off, which happened on a Friday before Thanksgiving. That Saturday it poured and stormed. At midnight I heard a sound. My cat looked at the wall of the bedroom which is over the fireplace. Water was cascading down. I called all the numbers I could find w/ no response. I laid down toweling to catch the water. At 3:00am the plaster living room ceiling crashed down. Again I called all the numbers. At 3:30, the salesperson returned my call. The crew boss came and climbed onto my very tall roof in the storm to fix the problem. By 5:00 it was done, and he wasn't injured (whew). On Sunday they assessed the damage. Monday a cleaning crew cleaned beautifully. Tuesday they replastered, so Thanksgiving was at least dry and clean. They painted Friday and had a cedar chest that had gotten damaged repaired. Other than the push to roof in stormy weather, they were very professional and pleasant to work with.
Terrific quality and professionalism. Would use them again. Very expensive at >90/hr. For quick response and outstanding work when I was in a bind, I give them an A. I do believe a more reasonable charge would be around $45-60/hr.
These guys are terrific. They came out and worked with us on every piece of the project. They were patient with decisions we had to make. They were quick and efficient and did good quality work. They did it timely as well.
We love him! He got it done extra fast and he got us in on the day we needed it done. Even though he was very booked up, he was able to rearrange things. He is honest and kind and always cleans up after himself. He does great work! He is reasonably priced and even gave us a senior discount as this work was being done to accommodate my mother. That was very nice and generous of him!
He came out about a year ago and did the estimate, but I didn't use him. He was very nice. He was on time.
I began my business in November of 2009, this report refers to the previous owner activity for which I cannot be held responsible. Is there a way this report can be removed ?
Last year a plumbing emergency called for plumbers to go behind the shower and work on plumbing issues. To do so they had to cut a small (twelve inch long by two inches high) irregular area out of the existing drywall. I purchased a groupon (half off first hour so it discounted this 1.5 service call from $185 to $130) and was told over the phone that the job I just described and another odds-and-ends job would be 1 to 2 hours of time. I was told to meet Kenny @ 10 at a Rental. On Friday just after 9:15 a.m. I had a missed call from Kenny saying he was heading over. Because this is a Rental property and I have a toddler to get ready before meetings, this was kind-of stresful but Kenny waited patiently for me and was kind when I met him. The drywall replacement looked great. He was not prepared to do the other odds and end job which was a bit dissapointing but as he said, he can't have everything he needs in his van. Though he did a thorogh job, I feel that $180 worth of labor/parts for a sliver of missing drywall was higher than I expected. He did, however, after the job was done go out of his way to help me move a big fallen tree which was not expected but very considerate. The work was quality, Kenny was great, I just can't say if I paid too much but feel I might have gotten a better deal elsewhere.
We first called them for gutter repair, but they said our gutters needed replacement. (Other companies agreed when we got other quotes.) They also said the roof was in bad shape, with a section of shingles missing! I looked on the roof and found they were correct. They offered free gutters with a new roof in October, so we agreed to the new roof. It turns out the deal did not include gutter covers, which we really wanted and needed, but we didn't realized that. When they were done and we found no gutter covers we complained, and they were nice enough to throw in the covers even though they are not included in the special deal. I found them very interested in making sure we were happy with their work. They were also really good at cleaning up, though they showed up late a lot (except for the gutter cover work, which was right on time).
A personable, skilled man discovered one thermostat was disconnected from radiant cable ceiling heating. He returned another day with a baseboard heater, wired it to my system, installed several thermostats Everrything worked fine. He gave me credit from the brief first visit, making the total price, including $140 for the heater, reasonable. Work was done swiftly and cleanup was complete.
First, of all I want to say that Mr. Handyman, is not cheap at $94.00 an hour. But, I appreciated that on large projects they are willing to negotiate their fees. Since my list was long our Handyman Tim came two days in a row to finish our projects. I will have Mr. Handyman, back in the spring/summer to tackle more home projects. The Handyman who showed up at our home name was Tim. First, of all, he was efficient, on-time, listened carefully to what I wanted and repaired the first items on my list which were the leaky windows. The larger items, the new toilets, flouresecent light, new faucet for the kitchen sink, floodlight for outdoors, wood for deck repair, etc., would need to be purchased. I told him I do all my home purchases at Home Depot. He offered to meet me at Home Depot the next week and help me select the items. He was at Home Depot way before I arrived and had scoped out all the items on my (to buy list.) He helped me load them in my car and for the items that didn't fit he took in his truck to bring later that week to our scheduled appointment. Tim arrived on time at that appointment and immediately went to work on the list. He installed the toilets, refitted one other toilet, put in the faucet in the kitchen, installed the new flourescent light under the kitchen cabinet, installed the new doorbell, fixed the creaky floorboards, and climbed up into our attic in the garage to install the new outdoor sensor light when he found that the tree that the outdoor light had been attached to (for over 40 years) was unstable, dead and the wiring in bad condition. (which was why we were having such problems with the outdoor light). So after that explanation and showing me the failing parts in question and a decision from me as to where the next best place would be to install the new outdoor light he immediately set to work to do the job. Throughout his work Tim consulted me periodically to let me know what item on my to-do list he would be tackling next and if he had run into any problems that I should be aware of while doing his work. In conclusion, I always look for honesty, integrity, know-how and professionalism when I select a business to help me with the upkeep of our home. I am impressed not only with Tim the assigned Handyman, but also his boss, Jim O'Neil who came by to help locate the creaky floor boards in the living room. Their knowledge of home maintenance, repair and the myriad of current home care products on the market and which were good, eco-friendly, and saved the consumer in the long-run was impressive.
I called Mr Handyman and requested help for putting up organization equipment in our garage, We recently moved in and the garage was a mess. The person on the phone explained the fee process. Tim came and put up the shelving we had but it didn't take the whole 2 hours. I went out and got more shelving and Tim came back and installed more shelving. I am well on my way to garage organization. The person on the phone assured me that I would pay for the amount of time they worked and I did.
