I took advantage of an Angie's List Big Deal offered by Homemasters Home Maintenance LLC of Tigard, Oregon for a roof replacement. Â Don Bruton, the sales rep and estimator, responded promptly, inspected the roof and presented me with a list of options for replacement of the old roof and offered a great selection of materials to choose from. Â Don performed very professionally, never pressuring, only offering advice and reasonable options. We agreed on a final price which seemed very fair for the work and materials offered. On the date the work was to begin the crew showed at exactly the time agreed and worked very hard, putting in long days. The crew was polite and considerate. I was indeed quite impressed with their work ethic as I realize how hard roofing in the hot sun must be. The job was finished in three days and the crew left the work site spotless. Don returned to inspect the work and we went over the site finding no flaws anywhere. I would most definitely use Homemasters services again as it strikes me that this company strives to do excellent work.

Initially, I was impressed. The estimator arrived on time and provided his assessment of our gutters. I suspected they needed to be cleaned and re pitched, but his recommendation was for replacement. I liked that my cleaning fee could be applied to further work. The arrangement for the actual cleaning was less impressive. After about 2 weeks from the estimator's visit, I had to call them to get an appointment. Then, they didn't show up. No call, no nothing. I called them again and was told they were down a work crew. A week later, the reschedule date was also a no go, but they did call. Finally, the 3rd time was a charm. I was mailed a form to say that my gutters were cleaned and that yes, replacement was still recommended. This was hard to rate because of the contrast of good and bad customer service. I imagine after a Big Deal, a company is swamped. But a no show/no call is very poor form.

We bought a coupon through Angie's List for gutter cleaning. They did not call us to make initial contact within a reasonable amount if time, so my husband called them and left a message. They did not return his first call, so he left a second message before they called back. It took them weeks to schedule our appointment. They came on the specified and repaired and cleaned our gutters. They cleaned up after themselves and did fine work. Overall, I don't think I would recommend them, simply due to the poor communication. It was very poor and made us very doubtful about their legitimacy.

It was not good. They did not do much; they were there just for an hour mostly cleaning off some stuff. It is a way to get to your place and then find all other stuff to do at a high price. I am sure I would not need them again. They did not show up on time and I had to call them.

I was expecting the moss to be removed. It was sprayed but left on. My wife was home when it was done and she was told it would kill the moss but I am not sure what I got out of this. The moss is stil there. It's still green and it still plugs my gutters.

The work done was of good quality. Â My issue is with the scheduling. Â I purchased one of their maintenance packages which provided spring/fall cleanings. Â One of their sales points is that they keep track of the scheduling so that it's "fire and forget" on the client end. Â Unfortunately, the last 4 times service was due I had to call to schedule the service. Â Generally, I was told I'd get a callback to schedule, which often took a couple of days. Â Perhaps it's not that big of a deal, but I don't think a service should be sold in that way if there is no follow-through.

I did not witness the work itself, as it was done during the day. But judging by the results -- the work went fine. About one year after the work was done, no moss has returned to the composite roof. The workers cleaned up the debris fairly well. My only quibble is that it took a couple phone calls to get the job scheduled, but the office people were courteous. Seems like a good value for the money.

They did what we wanted. They cleaned all of the gutters thoroughly and provided a basic inspection of the roof. Seemed to be completed in a timely manner and as expected. Thanks!
