Write a ReviewThe inspector came out to inspect the roof and told me my options. I decided to go with the VIP package that included pressure wash. Was told I would get a call back but didn't call a call for about two weeks. I had to call him myself to schedule a date for the work. The inspector told me he didn't have my number but I gave it to them when I scheduled the inspection. On the scheduled work date, they were 40 minutes or so past the time frame that they gave me. There was no call to update my on my they are late. I had to call them twice.  The workers came and told me they were in a meeting. If you know you're going to be in a meeting, at least call the customer to let them know you might be late. They estimated that the work would take about 4 hours so I went to work and told them to call me when they were done. Few hours past estimated time and didn't get any call. Had to call the workers and was told they were done couple hours ago. After receiving my invoice, I called in to pay but the person that handles it was out to lunch so I left my number for a call back. Two weeks goes by and still no call. Had to call them back myself and leave my credit card info for them to process the payment. Overall, the quality of the work is good. The thing they need to improve on is communication between their departments and with customers.

They recommended the most expensive option (pressure wash the roof) but I chose the most gentle option (air blowing with moss treatment). The service was performed on a pretty heavy rainy day and I was told the rain would activate the treatment (after I asked the workers when they took my check). I have pretty big roof but they didn't spend much time on it. It made me wonder if they really treated the whole roof. Ever since their treatment, I can still see green shiny moss exactly where they were on my roof. Their treatment did not do a  thing. I finally called and asked them to come and take a look. It took them two days to respond after I called the 2nd time. They claimed their workers did what they were supposed to do and then advice me to purchase their most expensive option again. When I questioned the practice of pressure washing, this time they said the pressure wash is with minor pressure.

It was excellent. Scheduling was fine and they were on-time and professional. We had no problems at all with scheduling. They were really good with communication regarding the scheduling the price of the service was a fair value.

This was a promotional service offered and it took this company over two months to actually do the work. Â Originally they said that they would be including the detached garage, however, I had to call a second time and show proof that they had included it for them to return a second time to do a very minimum job for the garage. Â In my opinion, they oversold the "special" and were not able to perform. Â This experience has made me reluctant to purchase vouchers offered by Angies' list. Â Also, I found out that the "special" I purchased was actually more expensive than a different special offered by the same company for the same work.

We signed the contract April 16, 2014 and were told by the salesman/representative the work would take four days. The work was completed on August 8th, 2014 pending a walk-though. We were told a scheduler would contact us on the 17th or 18th a day or two after signing the contract. We heard from no one until I called the following week to inquire about a beginning date and was told Homemasters was backed up and didn't have a starting time for us. Work did finally begin on May 12th but once the work began there were problems when workers were smoking on the roof and either leaving used cigarettes on the roof that soon blew off into the fish pond or were tossed in to the neighbor's yard. A tool was dropped through one of the skylight openings and cracked a tile. Workers often didn't show up when they said they would or not at all and we never had any communication from the scheduler or Homemasters regarding this problem. At approximately six to eight weeks into the job I finally called the salesman/rep and left a message that we just couldn't get any information from anyone with respect to schedules. He, apparently, contacted the Asst. Manager who then stayed in contact with us but that didn't preclude more problems. Two workers showed up to remove the old upper deck and believed that consisted of just removing pallets when, in fact, they were supposed to be removing the old deck covering underneath. While awaiting confirmation from the office one "taped" off the cab of the truck and began jumping on the hood. I can't even fathom what he was doing other than goofing off and actually wondered if he was on something because his behavior was so bizarre. Once getting confirmation they were to begin tearing off the roof the two did so but only got a section removed. Nothing was put on to cover the deck which is above the living room. A storm passed through; we had water running down the canister lights, walls and ceiling in the living area. I called Homemasters and the answering service contacted Hector who came here at 10:00 at night to put down a tarp. It took him two hours of work. Homemasters now had interior repair work to deal with. In the interim, roof work was nearly completed but we had to wait for one of the skylights to either be repaired or reordered when it was damaged. One section of gutter was completely missed so another delay waiting for those people to be available. And, the fascia between the deck siding and the new flooring needed to be painted. There was reluctance on Homemasters part to do that but it was completely unfinished and so they conceded to doing the work for which we provided the paint. The upper deck didn't drain properly so more work had to be done to correct that problem. And, we have drain holes in three corners of the roof and upper deck that are now covered by free-standing grates which are of concern with respect to winds blowing them around and letting debris in or, worse blowing them entirely off the house. And there's one area that has been left unpainted from either removing the roof and/or gutters. The interior work was completed satisfactorily with us providing the paints for ceiling, wall and woodwork. I spoke with the salesman/rep today (Aug. 13) who wanted to schedule the final walk-through and I told him the earliest we could do it was Aug. 26th. He objected strenuously saying it wasn't right that Homemasters had completed the work and should be paid the remaining half immediately. We've had travel plans for months that wouldn't have interfered with this final act if Homemasters had done their job on time and without additional problems for which they were responsible.

First someone came out to survey the work. Â When the workers actually came to do the job, they turned out to be kids who spent no more than 30 minutes on the roof. Â They explained that they had treated the mossy sections with a liquid that would kill the moss, and that the moss would slide off the roof in the first rain. Â We did see some moss on the ground and in the driveway later, but I would not call this a thorough or professional roof-cleaning. Â This was an Angie's List special, and although the price was great ($250) it sure turned out to be no bargain. Â I was very disappointed in both the provider and in Angie's List. Â I'm much less inclined to go for Angie's List specials in the future.

I went into the office and looked at the product itself to see how the covers are installed. The office wasn?t very good at explaining the product or showing demos. The office guys weren?t so helpful. I was in great doubt of the gutter cover but it worked so well during the thunderstorm, it was a very impressive product! I only had Homemasters install the covers on the front part of the house, but I am going to have them put the cover on the whole gutter system. The guy I worked with was really excellent. He was very experienced and knew a lot about it. He was great to work with.

It was fine. We wanted to know if we needed a new roof as it’d been a while. They decided that we did need a new roof, but they quoted us $10,000.

When they went to catch the debris, from my roof they missed a lot of it and it ended up in my lawn and garden.
