We interviewed several companies and chose homemasters.  They did meet our lowest bid.  We were very explicit about what we wanted including some fairly unusual work that we needed done to match other areas of the house.  (I gave them an "A" for price.)  They did it their own way (which did not match the way we wanted).  They did some additional work (replacing part of an overhang) and did not charge us in consideration for the other issue.  We also noticed that they made some really weird trimming decisions.  We are not sure why they did it that way and they did not ask us.  (For these two issues, I gave them a "B" although the roof looks pretty good from what we can see.)  But, all in all, we were OK with their service and decided to ask them for a bid for some additional work.  They came by and looked at the work and said they would get back to us.  After a few weeks, we called.  And called.  And called.  Today I finally called the office, not the "specialist" we had been working with.  I received a cursory email that stated the following (grammar errors and all): "I talked with the general manager and We feel we are not the right company..  Pull out the air conditioning units and patch the inside and outside wall."  Had this come right after they came out or a week later, I would not have given them a lowered responsiveness score ("D"), but it has been months.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They had to come out twice to do the job but they finally got it right.  The guy came out and cleaned off the roof with a blower and then he put some powder on the ridge lines of the roof.  But he put very little of it on it that there was no way it was going to work. I called the company and I talked to somebody at the office.  They were less than enthusiastic about it but they said they would send him back out.  Then I told them that when they send him back out ask him to take a look at the house across the street which their competitor did to see how much of it was on there. After he left the second time he had about the same amount as the competitor put on the house across the street.  But it took them twice.  There wasn’t anything that I particularly recommend about them.  I won’t use them again because of the aggravation of it all.  The worker that came out was great.  He was very friendly and I have no complaints about him. He was fine.

The service went okay. I asked him to try to fix a tree that was falling off with supports. He was not able to do that, however. I also had him change a few light fixtures, drill some hooks in to the wall and take care of a chair that was coming off its frame. I was not impressed with his work so I do not think I would this company again.

  8. Liens Search
    We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them.
  9. Identity Verification (SSN)
    HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities.
  10. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup)
    We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
