Homemasters Portland SW

Homemasters did an excellent job cleaning my gutters and roof. They were very friendly, professional and detailed.  They were on time and follow up to make sure i was satisfied with their work.  I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

As it turned out, the rain barrel couldn't be located in the place I had really wanted it, so it is in another place, where I really don't need the extra water. The people were very nice and efficient, but the rain barrel itself is nothing special. I wouldn't recommend it unless you know that you can put one where you really can use it. The company is good. It just wasn't what I really needed.

They showed up on time and they did the job quickly.   The only problem was is they blew all of the leaves into our air conditioning unit.  Not good.  They clogged one of them. When the business person called us to get more money from us I told them that and we somehow got disconnected.

I think that I covered that pretty well in the last segment.  There have been other methods of moss removal recommended and I chose this one as it was sold as the most 'Roof Friendly' of them all.  The roof is fairly steep and I was surprised that the men were able to negotiate the roof and thoroughly remove the moss in the time they were on the job.

Before Homemasters came out, one of my gutters was installed to drain the wrong direction. One end of the carport roof edge is slightly lower than the other, but the downspout was installed on the slightly uphill side. So it drained, but also overflowed from the downhill side. The Homemasters guy suggested just replacing the overflowing gutter w/ a larger one, and that should not overflow anymore. It works until that gutter gets clogged w/ leaves again. They found an economical solution. I didn't want to have a downspout on the slightly downside of the carport roof edge (no place to drain). They also suggested bronze level treatment: blowing the moss and fir needles off my roof, cleaning out the gutters, then applying a relatively safe growth inhibitor. Some lichen grew back over the past year, but not nearly as heavy moss as before.

I was happy with the price to have my roof and gutters cleaned, including the detached garage. The workers were very curteous and did a decent job but there was still a little debris in the gutters after cleaning. I was not overly concerned about that but I was a little dissaptisfied when I called a few weeks later to let HomeMasters know that there was still some a small amount of moss on the roof in areas where they had to hand scrape it. They said that they would come out to check on it and I have not heard back.6604

I purchased this service through Angie's List. I was not present when the service was performed, but my boyfriend was there. They were on time, quickly went to work and the results have been pretty impressive. They first blew off the loose moss, then the gutter and then treated it to inhibit future growth. There was a lot of moss on my roof before due to several rainy seasons without treatment. My roof is nearly moss-free now. They followed up with a letter to my house detailing what they found and the condition of my roof. My only slight hesitation is the cost for the service. They were there about 30 minutes. I know it is dangerous work, but the price seems a bit steep. Still, I would hire them again, maybe for just a treatment with the chemical in order to save money. 

Thoroughly cleaned the roof.  Did a lot of work for what I paid.   I felt I got a very good value.
