Reviews
Write a ReviewThe crew was very professional. They called to let me know that they were on their way and gave my options on where I wanted things installed.
Not a big story. These people are professional and friendly and I would definitely use them again.
The Beacon serviceman was cordial and knowledgeable and, overall, the experience was a very positive one (unlike the experience I had with the TV repairman -- who was NOT from Beacon Electric!).

Beacon sent Victor to handle the replacement work. A couple weeks prior to him coming, the main office called to confirm his appointment prior to coming, and allowed me to adjust the time so I could be available and away from work. Victor came out on time on the day of service. He is an exceptionally nice guy, and explained the entire process. The replacement took a couple of hours, and the work was excellant, even on older plaster walls in our house. We owed a small amount from some additions to the work (recepticle covers we selected cost a bit extra, and he fixed a light switch for us). The payment process was immediate using an ipad, and the invoice paid was sent to my email right in front of me. We were impressed with their use of technology to provide good service. We definitely plan to use Beacon again for some upgrades to our basement rec room lighting, and our bedrooms. Victor was particularly helpful, and offered great money saving suggestions as to using specials the company will be making available to handle those projects. We also hope to use their services for future company/media center work as well.  It couldn't have been a better experience with Beacon. We have worked with several electrical contractors, and they are far above all of them in terms of quality and service.
We're very responsive from the owner Bob to our service provider Victor. Good guys, friendly and worked out any small issues by putting the customer first. When we're ready to do our kitchen we'll call them again. Definitely, give them a shot.
All of the people I had interaction with at Beacon were very helpful. From the start - Denise, the Office Manager who handled my first call answered all my questions about my house with its being from the 50's and having the 2 pronged outlets. She understood my concern about buying the Big Deal without knowing whether it would be appropriate for me, so she put in touch with Bob. the owner. Bob really analyzed the problem over the phone quickly and said he would send someone out to check the outlets beforehand to access them before scheduling the job, and he would honor the coupon price whenever I scheduled the work. So it all worked out great as it usually does when a company really wants to work with you. The guys, Victor and Kevin, were a joy to have around all day. They worked professionally and efficiently. Victor explained any questions I had and was very patient all day long. They were quiet, clean and good workers. Happy too. Kevin had me laughing several times that day. Victor as lead Electrician was able to give me some free "extra" like no charge items, which I was very grateful for. Victor , you deserve a lot of praise for a job well done! I am glad I got you for the Electrician on this job. And thank you for the Lifetime Guarantee!!

Called in advance to ask several questions, get some details, understand the fine print, etc. In particular, I wanted to know how much the surcharge was for handling painted over outlets (as mentioned in the ad). They said about $10 each. Once I was satisfied, I ordered the Big Deal. They contacted me shortly thereafter to schedule the work, but I actually wanted to wait a couple of weeks-- wasn't ready to have the work done. Finally I got the appt. scheduled. The appt. was shortly after the dechero storms and we'd only had power for a few days. I actually FORGOT the appt until he called when he was on his way. Completely my fault, but he still seemed willing to reschedule. I decided to go ahead with it but I wasn't completely ready-- that is, choose which outlets to replace, move furniture, etc. The tech was very patient and understanding. I *wish* I could remember his name-- Hispanic...maybe Raoul? He showed me the child-proof outlets and let me play with one to see if it was annoying to use (it wasn't). He then noticed some old-style two-prong outlets in the house and asked me if they were grounded. I said I didn't know, and he said that if they weren't grounded, there would be an additional charge. I was absolutely LIVID because that's exactly the kind of thing I was trying to avoid when I called to get details, etc. Apparently I didn't ask the right question to learn about that particular surcharge, and they didn't mention it to me. Fortunately, even the old two-prong outlets were grounded, so disaster averted. I asked him about the surcharge for the painted over outlets, and he said he wasn't going to charge extra. Basically I got the impression he thought that was unnecessary surcharge and didn't enforce it. Not sure if it was because minutes before, I was very irate. But I was very grateful. Anyway, he shadowed me as went through the whole house checking for old outlets and keeping track of how many faceplates needed replacing. It took me awhile to finalize everything, but he remained very patient and started the work while I finalized things. I had no problem leaving him to go to work-- our nanny was still home and they had chatted amiably in Spanish earlier. So in the end, the tech was great and the work was great, but the tone of this review would have been different if our outlets had been un-grounded-- so be sure to find out first!
The technicians name was Victor. Than you for the review. P
