The inspector that came for Beacon Electrical was actually the owner of the company. He spent over an hour inspecting many details of the house, answering questions about specific concerns I had. He was very polite, nice, detail oriented, and clearly knew the ins and outs of electrical. After the inspection was completed, he wrote up a quote to fix the problems which concerned me most (poorly wired outlets, scary wire splicing, outdoor wiring be removed where unnecessary, etc). At that point I signed a estimate and we scheduled for the work to be done, and was asked for a 1/3 of the initial cost (I paid by check). At this time, the initial cost was approx. $1500, and the work to be done also included the installation of 4 canlights (using another angie's list coupon, as suggested by Beacon). The electricians who came were very nice, and spent much of the day working on bad outlets (the installation of the can lights only took about an hour). At this point it became clear that there were some hidden complications - the outdoor wiring was spliced into some indoor lighting and all on the same fuse, some of the fuses were wired backwards, etc. Another quote was written up to repair these further issues, and we paid the remainder of the first fee. The electricians came out a second time and got nearly everything straightened out although it took another full day; this has alot to do with the electrical in our house and not the electricians, who were efficient and professional. They took the time to explain what was being done, and worked to address as many issues as possible in the time allowed.  I did have some concerns about one of the fuses after the electrical work was complete, and an electrician was sent out to address this issue the next day. All in all, my experience with Beacon has been stellar; their interactions with me have been prompt and customer service oriented. Though the price was a little high, I felt comfortable that I got my money's worth given their prompt and thorough service. I would recommend and use them again.

They installed the attic fan in August 2012. They called quickly after I bought the Bid Deal to set up the appointment,  arrived on time, worked very fast, offered but didn't pressure me to upgrade the fan, and cleaned up well. All terrific.  A year later, the fan started having some problems (running continuously when it should have shut off). When I called, they said that it sounded like the thermostat and that it was under warranty, so set up an appointment to replace it. They were apologetic but couldn't fit me in for another 10-12 days. When the technician arrived, he explained that according to the warranty I needed to pay for the labor but not the parts. This hadn't been explained to me when I set up the appointment (and I hadn't read the fine print on the warranty), so I was upset, not having expected that charge. The technician, Andres, was very helpful and calm; he called his supervisor who immediately called me back and said that since it was his company's error, they would take care of the labor costs as well as the parts. Pretty amazing customer service! In addition, Andres was very fast and friendly and made the whole experience as pleasant as possible.

The electriction came in on time, but was rather slow in my opinion.  I think it was due to me purchasing a $110 for 2 hours of service coupon.  The quality of the job was great and he knew his work well.  Will probably use him again.

Beacon was absolutely terrific, worked with me every step to give me exactly what I wanted.  Made numerous trips, took care of everything, start to finish.  Without question the best experience I have ever had with a service provider like this.  I would recommend Beacon, and namely Victor and Andreas, to anyone.

This was the 4th project Beacon has completed for me.  In short, Beacon is one of the very best contractor of any service I have used over the 25 years I have owned the house and this project, which was the largest, further confirmed that fact.  Beacon pricing may not be the lowest, but it is fully commensurate with the quality of the work provided and certainly acceptable.  This project again demonstrated the excellence of the Beacon workforce which always arrives on time, works until the job is completed to the highest standards and leaves the work site in perfect condition.  All of the Beacon technicians are highly qualified, proud of their skills and are only satisfied with top quality outcomes. Moreover, they are friendly and considerate.  This project did not complete without some starts and stops because of equipment delivery issues.  Importantly, the owner was always available and immediately responsive to remedy any project delays or issues for whatever reason and was personally committed to insure the project was done right.
