Write a ReviewThe same person, Steven, came out for the installation. Again, we were very pleased with their service. The lady who handles the phones in the office, Dee, was extremely responsive. If you called with a question, she immediately found the answer and called you back. She was very conscientious about setting up a convenient time. I was very impressed with her customer service. The owner of the company takes customer service and any customer feedback very seriously.

When we moved to Great Falls, we knew we had to get a generator. During our first few months of living here, we lost power for a few hours about once a week -- there was no rhyme or reason. We'd lose power on sunny days with no storms nearby -- trees fall on lines all the time around here. We found Beacon on Angie's List and scheduled an estimate with Bob, the owner. He came out to talk about the process of installing a whole-house generator. This is not a small task -- we didn't realize how many steps were involved. At many points there could have been issues (when dealing with the county, or connecting a gas line from our propane tank to the generator, or the installation), but it went very smoothly. It did take a few weeks to get on the schedule, but this seems to be the case with other  companies as well. While we were waiting for the install date, we were fortunate to not have any significant power outages (and then a few days after the generator was up and running, our power was out for 15 hours -- go figure -- but we didn'tcare, because we had power thanks to our generator!). The electricians did the job on what had to have been the hottest day of 2013, and they were always very professional and cheerful throughout. They worked until 9 p.m. that day to complete the job. We hope to use Beacon for other electrical needs in the future and recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking to install a generator. The price was excellent and so was the service.

After the initial whole house inspection was performed, I was not 100% satisfied. Within a day or 2, Victor and Beacon Electrical immediately called to see what they could do to remedy the situation. After a re-inspection and a very professional and thorough walk-through of all the items that were found, I am very impressed with the Company and the service provided and cannot recommend them enough. We plan to use Beacon Electrical for any future electrical needs.

My house is quite old, so it was good to make sure all the wiring in the outlets and fans were working properly. It had not been checked or inspected for a very long time. Luckily, only a few minor changes were recommended. My circuit breaker box is now labeled so it is legible.

Total time to trouble shoot both problems took less than 20 minutes. I was told the kitchen light should probably be replaced because of its age. The door bell needs to have a new transponder installed. The technician separated the wires on the kitchen light and removed the old transponder for the door bell. So at this point in time, the kitchen light still needs to be "fixed" and I will have to replace the transponder myself since the technician had no replacement parts with him. I was told that the transponder is usually the problem when the door bell stops working.  He offered to go to the local store to buy what would be needed but it would be an additional charge on top of the $185. I was asked if there was any other electrical issues I wanted him to look at since he was here, but I declined. I was very annoyed that if a transponder is "usually" the problem with door bells not working and he knew he was troubleshooting a door bell problem, that he didn't have any parts with him. Overall, I am not very happy that I had to pay $185.00 for 20 minutes of work that still requires that I have to fix the problems or pay even more. In fairness, I was made aware that the troubleshooting charge was $185, but I would think that if it takes less than half an hour to find the problem, that some kind of reduction in price could be made.
We are working with this customer to rectify the situation. Beacon will update once we can find a solution.
The technician was punctuall. He arrived right on the time scheduled. Actually, he was early and I saw home sitting outside in his truck waiting for the appointment time. He did a beautiful job of installing the lights and dimmer switches. I initially bought the wrong kind of switch, which he pointed out for me. He installed the recessed lights while I went to pick up the correct switches. I highly recommend and will use them again.

Our technician, Steven, was very professional. He called when he was on his way to our home and was on time for the appointment. He explained in detail what needed to be done and how it was to be fixed. Â The job was completed in the amount of time he said it was and we are satisfied with the work. We would definitely use them again!

It went perfectly! Another good coupon purchase from a good electrical company on Angie's List. Steven and Andreas came to do the work. They were very courteous, pleasant and efficient. I had received an e-mail asking when I would like to schedule the work and at that time choose ivory replacements and received further information on why painted outlets incurred an additional charge.  Once I began to remove the face plates in preparation for the replacements, I understood. It was suggested that I use an a blade of some sort to cut around the faceplate and I thought the face plate would just pop off. No, they don't just pop off. The paint glues the plate to the outlet and it took me approximately 20 minutes to take off each of the 25 face plates. That adds up to a lot of time, so it was very helpful to do this work in advance of the appointment. Steven explained that new outlets would "be tight" and he was right. All of them work and electrical cords stay plugged in. The technicians even made my dog their apprentice. Steven called my attention to some items that would need to be upgraded and made some other suggestions. Nothing pushy, just helpful and constructive information. They completely cleaned up when they were finished. Happy to use this company again and I would definitely request both of these technicians.

It went okay. This was the first time we had used this company. The one thing that stands out was that they were taken aback a little when I told them I had pulled the permit for the job. They were surprised that I had done that. That meant that they had to follow electric code to do the installation. Â They were surprised by that.

We have many reviews on Angies List where customers state that when the inspector came to check out our work, they would comment on how well done and clean our job had been completed. At Beacon, we pass the first time!!
A two-man team arrived and started working on both problems. I needed to get some additional parts for the bathroom fan so went myself to the nearby Home Depot to pick them up, leaving these guys alone at my house. I was very comfortable with that because they impressed me with their professionalism. 45 minutes later, it turned out that yet another part was needed, because of the age of my home, but this time the head electrician went to pick it up at no extra charge (normally that would cost $75). They also did a thorough review of the wiring in my house and presented me with a comprehensive plan for updating the circuit box and wiring. I have a 40+ year old home and I know that work needs to be done. They were very thorough and clear as to why the work needed to be accomplished, and why it cost what it cost. They did a great job of fixing my lamp and installing the bathroom fan, and cleaning up. It was an excellent value, and I am definitely considering using them to upgrade my electrical system.
