I had a wonderful experience from beginning to end! The person who answered the phone and scheduled the work was very friendly and professional and worked with my schedule. Steven called ahead of time and was at my house (with my happy agreement) an hour an a half early! Steven and Miguel did a fantastic job. They were very good about putting up plastic to protect cabinets and floors and keep the dust from the rest of the house. They were professional and knowledgeable and came up with quick solutions when faced with unforeseen circumstances. My house was built in 1940. Steven was helpful in explaining the process and what needed to be done. Miguel even crawled into the space over my kitchen to find a better solution!! I was amazed at how quickly they did the job and how clean the kitchen (and rest of the house) was after they completed the job. I love my recessed lights!!!.....and would highly recommend Beacon Electrc and Steven and Miguel.

Victor, the team lead, was very proactive, contacting me approximately a week before the work was to be done.  He was very patient on the phone and asked the right questions in order to get the information he needed to perform the job.  Victor explained what was needed and the various options that were available to me.  Here's a good one -- Beacon will purchase all supplies and charge the customer cost, no mark ups.  I exercised this option and it saved me loads of time and ensured I had the proper material. Victor and Jimmy arrived right on time as coordinated.  Victor and Jimmy introduced themselves and immediately started surveying the job.  They were extremely efficient, explained their services, surveyed the task, and immediately started the job.  They did not waste a second, ensured they understood my expectations, and went right to work.  They tackled an extremely difficult job and made it look easy.  The construction of the house compounded their task, but they easily overcame all obstacles.  The job was done quickly and they stayed on task.  Victor and Jimmy were extremely friendly, displayed the highest level of professionalism, and kept me informed on what was happening. I was extremely satisfied with the services Victor and Jimmy provided.  They stayed on task, were extremely cordial, and again, demonstrated the highest level of professionalism.  I would highly recommend them for any electrical services and would definitely use them in the future.  Fantastic job, outstanding guys, and great company -- they are more than worthy of being an Angie's List provider.  Job well done, extremely satisfied customer.  Hats off to Victor and Jimmy of Beacon Electrical.

The technicians called the day before my scheduled appointment and told me a 2-hour window in which they would arrive. The morning of my appointment, they called again about 20 minutes before they got to my house.  They arrived right on time, at the beginning of the window they told me, and worked diligently the entire time. They were very polite, wore shoe covers when inside the house, and explained to me exactly what they were going to do before they did it. They also gave me advice on various options for adding lighting in multiple rooms of my house  and explained to me which options would have the most/least drywall damage as well as the prices for those lighting options. When they were finished, they performed a complimentary whole-house outlet safety inspection. They did all of this in about one hour.  They were very professional and helpful - I would definitely use this company again.

I knew with an Angie's List deal I would be subject to further solicitation the day of the service - and I was right. Soft sell, not too bad. Installer worked quickly, did not notify me of additional costs for 3" segments of wire which significantly increased cost of outlet upgrade. He agreed to re-install bathroom light fixture over the sink for an agreed-upon price, but did not identify any installlation challenges and quickly left before I could see he had installed it off-center with an exposed hole in the sheet rock. I am reserving judgement on Beacon, but would give the installer a D-.

We bought an attic fan to help cool our upstairs. The company arrived on time. The employees offered me an opportunity to buy a better fan with a lifetime warranty (as opposed to the special offer item with a limited warranty). They did the work quickly, even though they had to go out and buy a part they didn't have with them.  After they left I found some parts that were left behind and areas where they didn't clean up. So apart from that i was pleased with the experience.

From the owner to Jesse the electrical lead to the gas line installer,  it all went smoothly. Very clear on pricing and options.  First class work which easily passed both inspections. Generator installation and testing great.  New panel and receptacles all work well.  Recommend the firm highly with special kudos to Jesse.  And  you'll save alot of money with Angie's deals.

We purchased a house fan to blow out all the heat from our attic and it was an easy experience. The guys came in, offered me a stronger fan to pay extra for on the spot and installed it with no issues. They cleaned up after themselves too!

The Big Deal was for a new electric panel for $1,999, but we needed a bit more than that.  Over about a five-month period,  Bob Hanifin and crews led by Victor Figueroa brought our electrical service into the 21st century, replacing the old screw-in fuse panel with a modern circuit breaker panel and, among other things, installing GFCI sockets near the kitchen sink and in the first-floor  powder room, and running a new line to the basement workbench.   Victor and his guys proved to be expert, professional and good- humored.  Their work was exemplary, with attention paid to detail both inside the house and outside.                Outside proved to be the main frustration, as the main service cable ran through a screen porch that was added on some years ago – a clear code violation that had not been mentioned when the porch was built.  Finding a new way to run the cable proved to be frustratingly  difficult, given the impediments faced by Dominion Power.   Ultimately, after some creative thinking and a good deal of effort by Dominion Customer Projects Designer Brandon Arnold, a path was devised.  After that, it was just a case of timing; a sort of intricate dance involving Dominion’s crews and Beacon’s.  Through it all, Bob Hanifin and his guys were timely, pro-active and unfailingly professional.          Of course, just as great athletes can occasionally stumble, we had a bit of a misstep that needed repair.  To his credit, Bob immediately stepped up without question, paying for an outside craftsman to handle the repair and make things right.               In the end, the guys at Beacon Electric did an excellent job, despite having to field some curveballs.  Their work was done in an expeditious, professional manner, obviously aimed at making sure the customer was pleased.  I can heartily recommend Bob Hanifin and the people of Beacon Electric.

Beacon Electrical Services offered a Big Deal for two hours of work for $119. The service tech came on time, handled the work we had identified (primarily removing and replacing outdoor light fixtures by the front door as well as dealing with a short in some outdoor lighting) professionally and efficiently, was courteous, took care not to track dirt into the house, and cleaned up fully after performing the work. We would be happy to have him work here again. It also should be said that, although Beacon does work in Maryland, this special deal was not originally intended for customers outside of Virginia. Due to some confusion regarding the posting on Angie's List, that restriction was not noted. Because of that Beacon said it would honor the deal even though we live in Maryland. It did so to our great satisfaction.

The contractors arrived very punctually and completed the job in record time.  They were couteous and thoughtful throughout the whole job and did everything in their power to make this a pleasant experience for my parents and me.  The workmanship was excellent and the job has passed inspection by the county and is performing perfectly.  I'm very, very satisfied with this company and the men they have working for them.  The office staff is great to work with as well!
