"Had a great experience with Nationwide Exteriors, Orlando, Fl. CandiceG was my point of contact. My insurance was about to expire and she followed up with the insurance to process the claim. She was present when the insurance adjuster came for the roof inspection. Our HOA allows only owen cornings roof shingles and Nationwide had all the HOA approved types. once the permit was approved work was completed within couple of days. There was a small problem of paint peeling in the wall, but when told to CandiceG she immediately sent someone to fix it. I would Highly recommend Nationwide Exteriors"

Although no area of the country is particularly kind to roofs, the high temperatures, severe winds and rain, and solar radiation take a particularly high toll on many residential roofs in Orlando. Sure, the technology exists to install a roof largely impermeable to these elements, but few homeowners have the financial resources to install these high-end roofing systems. If you're like most residents in the Orlando area, you probably have an asphalt shingle roof that has seen a few summers. You don't want to simply wait around for something to happen to your roof. Let us help you find the right professional for all of your roof inspection and repair needs.
Roof Inspections: Why
Naturally, the point of a roof inspection is to determine the condition of your roof and identify problems early, before they become major home repairs. A simple roof repair may cost as little as $100 to $200. Once rainwater infiltrates your sub-roofing system and saturates insulation, drywall, and wood beams, your cost will skyrocket to several thousand dollars. While it's never a bad idea or a bad time to have your roof inspected, if you have an asphalt roof that's older than 10 years, not having your roof regularly inspected borders on negligent. The best roof inspectors have seen it all and have multiple areas of expertise. Along with identifying problems with your roofing system, they'll notice if you have gutters with poor joints, siding that is losing its integrity, and other issues with your exterior housing structures.
Roof Inspections: When
The best time to have your roof inspected is in early summer, just before hurricane season. The National Roofing Contractors Association actually recommends you have your roof inspected twice a year, not a bad idea in a volatile climate such as central Florida. Both the general condition of your roof and the prognosis of your roof withstanding a major hurricane should one hit central Florida are critical to know in protecting your home. Of course, this is only the most obvious form of roof inspection. You should conduct your own roof inspection after each severe storm. If anything at all looks amiss, call in the professional roofers and have them look at your roof again. Don't wait until the last minute, once predictions have a severe storm moving into the area, it may already be too late to schedule a roof inspection. Storm season also tends to be a roofer's busiest time of year.
Roof Inspections: How
This one might seem simple (you hire a roof inspector, right?), but it's more complicated than you might think. Many roofing contractors who install and repair roofing will also offer roof inspection services, particularly during the off-season when business is slower. Some roofers have even been known to offer free roof inspections, in the hope of drumming up business. Sometimes these contractors have also been known to exaggerate problems areas in your roofing, although with hurricane season always lurking, nothing should be ignored. On the other hand, spending $100 to $300 (common price range for an independent roof inspection) is often money well-spent. Whatever you do, the most important thing is finding someone you can trust. Given that much of the work on roofing occurs beneath the surface, where shoddy work can lie undetected, you want to seek out the best of the best. HomeAdvisor puts each and every contractor in our system through a rigorous 10-step screening process. We also provide homeowners with an online database of customer ratings and reviews, so you'll be able to see what other homeowners have thought about their experience with individual contractors.
