Write a ReviewDESPITE THE FACT THEY WERE NOT THE LEAST EXPENSIVE , i CHOSE THEM BECAUSE OF Michael. Bad Mistake. They spliced their equipment unsafely, ripped an outlet out of the wall, Damaged their own varnish work, messed up a section of stain, left the doors the unlocked unsecured for two days, went exploring all over the house without permission, and charged my credit card without an end of job inspection and my approval. Numerous phone call went ignored. All I got is a well things do get missed series of answers. POOR WORK, POOR SAFETY. POOR SECURITY. Do NOT GIVE A DAMN about the customer. Once they have your credit card number, you are screwed.
As the crew prepared to begin this refinishing project, the office received notice from the Customer, his concern of the 220V connection. As stated in the contract, we explained the process. Furthermore, we offered to cancel the project, leave and return the full deposit, if the Customer was still uncomfortable. He asked us to stay. We completed the project as contracted. When the Customer was able to access the floors for inspection, we were notified there was an area of finish that needed touch-up and a few boards that didn't take the stain. Upon notification, the Project Supervisor returned immediately to address the issues. We had to explain to the Customer, a few of the stained boards required replacement, unfortunately his style of board is no longer available. He insisted that the stains would come out if we just sanded deeper into the wood. Knowing from experience that would not work, we explained this was a situation beyond our control. Upon completion of this visit, we conducted a walk through with the customer, at which point he confirmed the job was completed as per the contract and approved the final payment.
Their bid was better than the others, they scheduled us to refinish the entire main floor, they sanded our old Bruce Hardwood Flooring, stained, sealed it three times, and buffed between each coat. The floors look fantastic. I also had them replace the baseboards with a more modern look. My center hall colonial built in 1983 looks great. This is the third time I have used them and I continue to recommend them to all my my friends and associates. You won't be disappointed.
Prospect Hardwood provided me with a poor product and rude and condescending customer service. In March 2021 we had some of our wood floors refinished. Jodi coordinated the project for us and she was a delight to work with. The maple stairs were stained and finished with an oil-based polyurethane. Within 7 months, however, the stairs and landing were already showing wear in certain spots that our feet often find. Mike, the owner, came out to look at the issue, at my request, but was rude and unhelpful. He couldn't identify what the problem was but insisted that a re-screening would fix it. Mike said that these floor just might need to be rescreened once or twice a year (at several hundred dollars a pop). I've never heard of such requirements; hardwood floor finishing should last for years. They rescreened these areas which fixed the problem briefly but in a couple months the wear spots returned, worse than ever. Then Mike said the problem was that these are places where people have often stepped over the years so the wood grain became compressed causing the stain to take unevenly. Maple is far too hard of a wood for this to be the case. I insisted that the work was poorly done and needed to be fixed but Mike responded that "it is impossible to tell the outcome of every floor" and refused to address the problem. Our conversation ended with him saying, At this point I propose you attempt the work yourself. The internet may provide you with the method that will work best with your skill set. If you are looking for hardwood floor refinishing I recommend you look elsewhere.
Mr. Sheehan is correct. The stairs have obvious wear areas from constant pressure created over a very long period of time. This is an older home. The only permanent solution is to replace the flooring in those areas, this was explained to Mr. Sheehan. Upon his expressed concerns we sent a team out to screen and recoat the areas at no charge. It was explained to him at the time that this would only be a temporary fix. Mr. Sheehan was insistent that the information he read on the internet must be factual and that the information we were giving him was incorrect. This may also be why he insist on the wood being Maple when in fact it is Oak.
Prospect Hardwood Flooring has refinished all of the hardwood floors in our home. They recently installed hardwood in our kitchen, connected it seamlessly to our hall and my office. AMAZING job. Chris and his crew were prompt, courteous and professional. The customer service provided by both Jodi and Mike is stellar. It is an outstanding company!
.5 years ago, I had Prospect Hardwood flooring remove my 1st floor carpet AND ceramic tile and replace with hardwood floor. Best decision I ever made. Now I needed to have my 2nd floor carpet removed and replaced with hardwood floor. I immediately went to Prospect Hardwood Flooring. Mike and Jody are a great husband and wife team. They were very patient, friendly, efficient, and HONEST. Mike gave me an estimate the next day, had the hardwood floor delivered the following day, and his team removed the carpet and put in the hardwood flooring 3 days later, in just 1 day. I gave the team a pizza, chicken and soda/hot cocoa/coffee party to celebrate their excellent and professional work. The floors are absolutely beautiful! I am so glad I had the carpets replaced with the hardwood flooring as my allergies disappeared after the 1st night. Excellent price with generous military discount, thank you Mike and Jody. My next project is the basement flooring.
Top Notch! Very organized, efficient and very customer oriented. Service installers knew exactly what to do and how to do it! Wonderful experience.
We have many project going on in our house. They have not only been the best to work with but the customer service is amazing. I have sent the company info to at least three of my friends. Great team work and great company
Perfect flooring match with exceptional work performed. A
On time. Clean and tidy process. Quick. Red oak floors had not been refinished in 10 years. House was a rental property and lots of wear. After a year, the finish is shiny and smooth.
From the first meeting through the floor being finished, the personnel were very straight forward, nice and helpful. There were a few small issues when the floor was done, I called them and they came out and fixed them immediately. I would highly recommend using them for your hardwood floor refinishing.
