Gustavo and the team were excellent. Personable, professional! We LOVE our refinished floor. I like being able to see the stain on the floor before the actual work is done :-) Gustavo provided insights into the lighting, type of wood, and the effect on what the final color would be, etc. Thank you!

Hired Prospect Hardwood Flooring to sand and refinish our family room area (1 room). Day 1 - Sand and apply 1 layer of stain. They sanded the main portion of the floor with a large belt sander and hand sanded the perimeter areas near the walls. Much to my surprise as one individual is putting down the stain another worker is still hand sanding in the room .... so where is all the dust going from the hand sanding? They were done in no time and left, I checked an area where we have a threshold piece going to the kitchen and noticed a stain was on the white kitchen floor. I called Mike to discuss the situation since I was somewhat concerned with the process I witnessed. He said to wipe the stain off the floor with mineral spirits and when I asked about is it standard practice to be staining and sanding at the same time he became extremely belligerent, rude, etc. He never would answer the question about sanding/staining at the same time Day 2 ? Apply a sealer coat and 1 polyurethane coat. Right before the crew arrived I gently wiped the floor with a swifter cloth, the amount of debris picked up was significant, not just dust but bigger pieces as well. Was concerned the crew would apply the sealer coat without wiping the floor which is exactly what they did. Let sealer coat dry then they applied the stain ½ hour later, were gone within an hour Day 3 ? Install quarter round and 2nd coat of polyurethane. The crew installed the quarter round, buffed the floor, and applied 2nd coat. Overall result? where the floor was hand sanded is a different texture (rough) than where the belt sander was used. The buffing before the 2nd coat was applied reduced most of the rough spots but not all. In my opinion, speed is their concern and definitely not quality control. I Will not use it again. Jodi is very good at her job, whereas Mike very cordial while giving the estimate is severely lacking any skills when dealing with customer concerns/issues

Response from Company:

It is our company policy, the office communicates with the Customer before, during and after the project. The day before we begin a project, the Office will review the project from start to finish, providing a timeline of the events to take place each day Then at the end of each day, we follow-up with an update. This allows the Customer to know exactly what will be done by the end of that day and the following day, to include providing the Customer with the amount of time needed to complete each task. The day after the project is completed, the Customer receives another call, to inquire the Customers satisifaction of the project. During this follow-up conversation, the Customer had no complaints, indicated the floor was better than before we started. PHF was hired by this Customer to refinish 1 room, scheduled to begin August 11th. Days before the start date, the wife called to cancel, indicating the reason was a sick dog. On August 18th, we received a frantic call from the husband, requesting if Mike could come out that day to inspect his flooring. He was in panic mode, stating his wife was not happy. Apparently, the husband attempted to refinish the floor on his own. That same afternoon, Mike inspected the floor, to see the husband had ruined the wood floor by whatever sanding and finishing process he followed via the internet, YouTube or any other resource. We provided the same estimate as before his attempt. Knowing his situation, we arranged our schedule to accommodate to start his project the next day. As we indicated above, our Office had communicated with the husband every day.Mike did receive a call from the husband, as the crew was working. He tried to explain to Mike that the crew was not refinishing his floor in a manner that agreed with his techniques. Mike asked if the job looked good, he stated it did but we were not doing the job correctly. Mike found the conversation amusing coming from the person who literally ruined his floor using the technique he Googled overnight. This job was done professionally complying with all industry standards.
