Reviews
Write a ReviewVery professional. Was happy with them.
From start to finish Indiana Foundation Service exceeded my expectaion I first meet Eric, our saleman, at the Home Show. His direct answers of my questions gave me a good idea of what was involved and a good ballpark estimate , which ended up being high when all was said and done. He arrived early for our appointment and was knowledgeable and professional. The office staff was able to answer question about scheduling and let me know that I should plan for two days to be safe. They called the day before to let me know that the crew would be there by 9:30 they arrive at 8:30 and introduced themselves and began measuring and protecting my floors. They were professional from start to finish let me know how they were progressing and made sure I was aware and okay with the solutions to the problems that arose. They finished ,much earlier then I expected ,cleaned up and walked me through the job to make sure I knew what to expect and that they were a call away if I had any questions.
Over all the work was ok. This was a home i was remodeling and they did not take care to clean up after they were done. I cleaned before the work started and when they left they left dust all over everything including the floor. They did not pay attention to detail when it came to finishing the concrete they poured. it could have been done much nicer but looked like they were in a hurry or did not know how to work a trowel. If your are going to have them do any work for you make sure you talk to them about the clean up afterwards so you know what to expect. I would get it in writing base on my experience. But now for the most important issue. Is the basement dry. I have to say so far so good. my basement walls still leak in a few spots but it just drips down and into the water guard and out via the sealed sumps. The humidity is below 40% and the damp smell is gone. If all goes well this spring and summer I will finish the basement.
The work was planned and executed as agreed. JES met all deadlines and completed all work successfully. Their clean-up was complete and done to uor satisfaction.
I had been warned by a neighbor who had her work done a few years ago by another company that there would be grand chaos and dust all over everything throughout the house. I was, then, prepared for the worst. I did a lot of preparation for the crew?s arrival, even bought plastic drop cloths beforehand to cover living room furniture, my computer, etc. I moved or had someone else move furnishings and books, wall d?cor and small pieces. Everything else was moved to the center of the rooms. The crew pulled up the carpet from around the walls and took it away. On the first day of the job, the young foreman and two others arrived promptly, brought lots of plastic sheeting with them, moved whatever was left in the basement, and covered everything that didn?t move with plastic. In cutting the trench, they discovered that the house's original electric wiring was laid under the concrete floor. Twice their jackhammer nicked a wire, shutting down the operation due to power outage. I had to quickly find someone to make a repair the first time. The second time, no repair was done. That?s another story. Other than that, things went as anticipated.
They were very professional, did great work and cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend them.
More than met our expectations.
We were told originally that the entire basement needed to be waterproofed. They wouldn't fix anything that they take apart. The salesman didn't tell me anything about what they would do. We ended up just replacing the old sump pump.
I accepted a salesman's bid to install a triple sump with battery back-up on May 3. It was pricey, but worth the peace of mind. The weather was dry at the time and he said if I could wait until June someone would call to schedule an appointment. The contract stated that the pump must be installed before I went out of town in the third week of June. I never had a call to schedule the install. One day in June there was phone message that they would be coming the next day to install! I called the company to say I would not be available that day and was treated very rudely by the older woman who took my call. She first had my name wrong, then insisted that I had written that day in my contract, then said if I wasn't willing to be there the next day she couldn't schedule me until the end of June. After checking my contract I called again and told her if they could not schedule me before my trip as stated in the contract I would make other arrangements, so the install was scheduled immediately. The installers were punctual, polite and did an excellent job cleaning up. They didn't have the contract and so initially were hooking up the pumps to the wrong discharge lines, but changed them when I told them it was wrong. Two days later (Monday) I came home to the high water alarm and the battery back-up discharging even though the power was still on. The primary and secondary pumps were both in failure! I called three numbers for the company and could not connect to a human. Then I called the original salesman's number. He said the company was not responding to phone calls due to flooding (at a company that specializes in basement flooding prevention!) and that he would forward my call. I waited all day for a response. Finally I took the sealed cover off and determined that the installation allowed the floats from the two pumps to jam each other so that neither could turn on. I re-oriented the pumps and got them working. I have had to fix this problem twice more since then. I don't feel any safer than before I paid $1600. The company has never returned my calls.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS REGARDING OUR COMPANY'S INVOLVEMENT WITH YOUR PROPERTY. WE APPRECIATE YOUR CONCERNS AND TAKE PRIDE IN MAINTAINING OUR RATINGS WITH ANGIE'S LIST AND ITS MEMBERS. IN REGARDS TO YOUR EXPERIENCE BACK IN JUNE, IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT THE COMPANY'S RESPONSE TO THE ISSUE WAS FRUSTRATING. DUE TO RECORD FLOODING IN THE AREA AND THE HIGH VOLUME OF CALLS DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE, SOME CALLS WERE DIVERTED TO THE ANSWERING SYSTEM. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE DISCOURTEOUS MANNER IN WHICH YOUR CALL WAS HANDLED WHEN SCHEDULING THE WORK TO BE COMPLETED. MEASURES HAVE BEEN TAKEN WITH THE OFFICE STAFF TO ENSURE THIS TYPE OF OCCURRENCE WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. WE ARE AN HONEST AND REPUTABLE COMPANY THAT BELIEVES IN MAKING OUR CUSTOMERS HAPPY. THEREFORE, WE ARE WILLING TO OFFER SERVICE TO THE SYSTEM WITH NO CHARGE TO THE CUSTOMER ALONG WITH A FREE ANNUAL CHECK UP ON THE PUMPS. WE HOPE TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER TO YOUR SATISFACTION.
Straight forward process that was perform well by this company.
