We decided to switch from oil heating and an old electric AC unit to a WaterFurnace 3 ton geothermal heat pump this winter. We also added a whole house humidifier and a new electric water heater. We have had the geothermal system for just over a month but so far we are very happy with it. We went from using about $350+ of oil in January to about $110 of additional electricity (about 30kwH per day) in February to run the geothermal pump and the electric water heater. We are heating a 1500 sq ft 1950's rancher + basement. The new system has no problem keeping the main level at 70 degrees and the basement at around 63 (we don't have zones, the thermostat is set to the main level). A cool thing about the geothermal system is that it will pre-heat the water before sending it to the water heater so that the water heater works more efficiently (just having to heat the water a few extra degrees). I cannot comment on the long term reliability of the system, but I will update the review if anything changes. We decided to go geothermal because the cost after rebates and tax credits was not significantly higher than running a gas line to our house, installing a new gas furnace and a new AC. We are getting a 30% federal tax credit, $3000 grant from MD and $500 rebate from BGE. Some counties have further property tax credits, but Howard county did not have any at this time. Supreme Air handles most of the paperwork. I feel Supreme Air did a good job installing the system. All the people involved in the process were very professional and knew what they were doing. I would use them again and would recommend them to people looking into geothermal. The things you may not like about geothermal are: 1. The initial investment is most likely higher than other systems. 2. It may take longer to install than other systems. Google all the steps involved in the process if you're interested. (My son particularly enjoyed seeing the  big drilling rig in our front yard). 3. The system pumps warm (not hot) air out of the vents. We like it, and our home feels very comfortable, but you might prefer the hot air associated with a furnace. 4. The installation will tear your yard. The digging crew did a good job putting the soil back in place so that the yard is almost flat, but you may need to put some work to restore your yard

Professional call operator was understanding and willing to send out a technician as soon as possible.  This was during a snow event.  The technician was kind and courteous; going so far as to put on shoe covers while inside.  Repairs were fast.

I used their website to send an email late Friday evening when I realized that my furnace fan was coming on, but there was no heat.  They called me first thing on Saturday morning, and indicated they could have someone out that afternoon.  The technician called me about 1 pm, and indicated that he was on his way back into Baltimore, and gave me his arrival time at my house.  He arrived on time.  He was pleasant, knowledgeable and professional.  He looked at the furnace, and explained what he found and what he thought would be the best repair.  He installed the part and the furnace worked.  He was in and out in about an hour.  I appreciated the timeliness of the response and the efficient, effective manner the work was performed.  I signed up for a service contract as I felt comfortable that this company will perform as promised.

They were very professional and the price estimate was in line with others but we felt their service was better. They were more detailed with their estimates and gave a step by step lay out. One technician was here doing the work and he was on time for the appointment. Scheduling went very well.
