Reviews
Write a ReviewThey are very good at what they do, they know what they are doing, they are ver proficient, and they have a crew that comes, and they explain. They are excellent at communication and responsiveness. They did the work when they said they were going to do it, they did it at the cost they said they would do it at, they gave a 25 year warranty, that was transferable if I move. They cleaned up the crawl space and I was scared of rats being there and so they blocked it. I had to clean up a bit after they left, and that was the only negative thing. They gave me a discount for being on Angie's List.
It's great to hear that your entire experience with FSM lived up to your expectations. Thanks for your feedback.
From the intital phone call to FSM, the young lady who answered the phone and helped get me to someone so quickly I couldn't believe and an appointment that very day, all I can say is every company who provides this kind of service should follow this business model for success. Excellence, Awesome and perfection in a job well done! Extremely professional and knowledgeable. The crew was courteous, clean and personable even when they came up against unforeseen obstacles relative to this old house. Found problems in the crawlspace that needed to be addressed before it was sealed and properly insulated and were able to execute solutions to my home's crawlspace issues that were affordable and manageable. Russell, I would trust with my life - I don't have enough room here to go on about his knowledge, helpfulness, credibility and awesome ability in working with the customer who is on the verge of frustration and tears! I have and will continue recommending FSM to friends, neighbors and anyone who needs to address bad crawl spaces/basement issues in older homes. More than worth the investment of properly insulating and sealing even if you think you don't have issues, you do! I noticed the benefits of the work immediately and wondered how I lived with it for so long before. Thanks again to FSM for making this a very painless process and full assurance in knowing it was a job well done!
Wow! Thank you for your feedback and for choosing FSM. It's great to hear that Russell and our entire team were able to deliver the level of customer service you received. We pride ourselves on our team and focus on a quality job, every time!
He put my two gutters underground and tore up all of my landscaping.
Thank you for your feedback. When gutters are buried, many times landscape material is affected. If things were not put back to your expectations, please contact our Customer Relations manager to discuss the situation further. We will do our best to leave you completely satisfied.
I called and made an appointment, or so I thought, but on the day of no one showed up. I called and they said they didn't see me appointment, but he could show up anyways. He checked things out, said we didn't need to pay him, and gave us a rough estimate of the cost of the repairs under the house. My husband gave him some money for driving out, and he kept us from purchasing a real money pit. Overall, I was annoyed about the appointment, but pleased with his service.
Sorry about the confusion with your appointment....but it's great to hear we were still able to meet you at the home and complete the inspection on the day you expected.
went very well. came when they said. did what was outlined to us. Only glitch was a problem with the electrical box sparking. They immediately called an electrician who had them turn off the electricity. Â Team left to wait until electrician could fix problem. Returned the next day and completed the job. Â They did scrape a tree trying to get a CAT into the back yard. Â They put a bandage on it when they left.
Thanks for your feedback and for choosing FSM. Glad to hear the job was completed to your satisfaction.
The service was excellent. The installers called to let us know they would be early. The workers set up by first making sure plastic was put down to protect the flooring and examined the work area. They covered everything before cleaning out the crawlspace and all trash was taken outside to where we requested. Nothing got damaged in the basement and the work was done very cleanly. After installation I inspected the work and it exceeded my expectations. Even payment was simple with a credit card swipe on a mobile device. 5 days later all the warranty paperwork showed up in the mail as promised.
Great news! We are crawl space experts and strive for the highest level of customer service. It's great to hear our staff and crew was able to leave you completely satisfied. Thanks for choosing FSM - we appreciate your business!
Great job! Mike and Marty did their work professionally and quickly. They called ahead and arrived right on time. They were very polite and helpful, explaining the process. The work was done quickly, the results were as good as we'd hoped, and they explained the warranty clearly before leaving - but not before they'd cleaned up the area. I would definitely use them again (but I hope I don't have to).
This is great feedback....thanks so much for taking the time. We are pleased to hear the job went well and that you found your entire experience with FSM was so professional. That is always our goal....to give you a home contractor experience that goes above and beyond your expectations. Thanks for choosing FSM.
It went well. The only exception was they left the door open all doing installation and we were inundated with flies!! It took over a week to rid our house of the flies. We had to buy a pesticide to accomplish it.
Thanks for choosing FSM....we appreciate your business. We apologize for the issue with the flies in your home. Unfortunately, while the crew removes debris from the basement, their hands are usually occupied hauling the debris, so it is not always possible to close the door behind them. Once again, we are very sorry for the hassle.
I had gotten an estimate from FSM two years ago that included spray foam insulation of all rim joists (ie filling the joist space with foam) . When I asked Bill (the inspector) to come out again this year, he said FSM is no longer using spray foam (open or closed cell) because of problems with wood rot. Bill reviewed the entire project and provided me with a new estimate. I chose FSM because of their products and solutions, reviews on Angies List and because of their BBB record- not because of all the over advertising they do. In the beginning there was a bit of an issue about getting a permit. I always email the city first to find out if one is needed. Finally, Bill checked with a supervisor who said it was ok to put in the contract that payment would be made only after successful passing of city inspection. I thought I got lucky when a few days later FSM called with a cancellation- they could come the next day. When the crew (lead supervisor and two men who did not speak much English) arrived the next day, I showed the supervisor around and had to leave for an appointment. My sister was onsite. When I returned after an hour, the crew had already removed the insulation from the basement rim joists, and air-sealed and re-insulated the cavities with R-30 Bond insulation. This was pretty amazing as my 1550 foot house has a full basement. They were already working in the crawl spaces and the supervisor was working on the foundation leak (dusty work). The large crawl space was open to the room above. I noticed that one of the workers was a little careless applying the air-sealing product in this crawl space rim joist. By this I mean there was not a solid bead of foam- but gaps. It also seemed he was in a bit of a hurry to cover it with the R-30 Bond insulation. I brought it to the attention of the supervisor who had it corrected. Once the work was done, I thought there was a noticeable difference in humidity in the house. I was pretty happy. Because Bill had found mold on some of the fiberglass insulation between the crawl space and basement, and because the basement smelled musty, I wanted to give the basement a good cleaning. This meant removing the new basement insulation and scrubbing rim joists, walls and floor with a bleach solution. I had not had time to do this prior because of the early cancellation. What I found in the rim joists was very disappointing. Most of them were incompletely air sealed with gaps in the foam bead. A few of them had no air-sealing at all. In some cases there was spray foam on top of a pile of sawdust. The good news is that FSM contacted me immediately (I had sent pictures) and the same crew came out and did the job right. They agreed they would supplement the air-sealing foam and when I was satisfied with this, the would replace the R-30 Bond insulation that had been removed for cleaning. In the basement, I watched as one the two workers stood on a 5 gallon bucket to re-foam the rim joists. Even with the buckets, he not tall enough to see the entire rim joist area!!! he eventually asked if he could borrow my stool. Following behind, the supervisor filled in areas where they missed again. In the large crawl space, one of the workers added more spray foam in the corners and replaced the insulation. He seemed surprised when I entered the crawl to inspect the work. He assured me he had done a good job. I pulled out the insulation and once again found areas where the foam was incomplete or missing! I watched him make the corrections. In the small crawl space the supervisor was doing the work and from what I could see was doing a great job. Would I use FSM again? Definitely yes if they continue to have the products and solutions I feel most comfortable with. And as long as they stand by their work. However I would closely supervise their work.
Thanks for your feedback. Our Production Manager indicated he also spoke with you about the work, and that the Crew leader was able to correct the sprayfoam issues you had, and hopefully left you completely satisfied. We believe a company should be measured not only by the quality of their work, but how they respond when there is an issue. We take customer satisfaction very seriously and will always do our best to leave our customers happy. Please contact us if there are any other issues that should arise! Thanks again for choosing FSM!
