Reviews
Write a ReviewThe FSM Team did a great job. Our crawl space was sealed, a support beam added and sump pump installed. The team continually communicates as the project is being done so we know what was going on. They would also ask for our input if there were different options available to consider.
Hi! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We take tremendous care to provide the highest level of service possible during every project. - Foundation Systems of Michigan
Foundation Systems did a great job. Job started as waterproofing basement but when portion of drywall was removed we discovered problems with foundation walls. They came up with a plan to strengthen & straighten walls as much as possible. Their crew did a great job. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone with waterproofing issues.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such an awesome review. We always strive to deliver great experiences consistently and we appreciate your feedback! - Foundation Systems of Michigan
Very well. Workers were great. They were successful in repairing the all the damage caused by another shoddy waterproofing company. So far, very satisfied.
Hi, thanks for leaving us such a great review. Our dedicated staff will be pleased to learn of your kind words! - Foundation Systems of Michigan
I ran the project from 500 miles away, and the lead manager was in contact with me daily, sending pictures and giving updates. They were all very professional and great to work with.
Hi! We are incredibly grateful that you took the time out to leave us this note. Our company views customer satisfaction as top priority and we are committed to excellent service. - Foundation Systems of Michigan
If you live in the upper west area DO NOT HIRE!!! There is a crew with a leader named Tommy who does terrible work. I was a bit skeptical of getting my basement done when I decided to call FSM the sales manager couldn't get any better. When the crew that was supposedly supposed to do the waterproofing at my house showed up it was ****. Tommy formily introduced himself and his "brothers" who sat around smoking cigarettes all day. I paid for my basement to be done at a specific date and they told me not to worry about it they will get it done when they can and "possibly" give me a small refund. I' don't want a small refund I want better quality work whoever is running FSM needs to get their head out of their butt and fire whoever Tommy is.

After a devastating flood in May 2020, our crawl space encapsulation needed seams repaired and vapor loc replaced, and gravel added around a pump. The crew, Jacob and Dan, are experts in their field. They were very professional, explained what the plan was to repair the encapsulation, and then when the work was completed, they had us view the work and made sure it was completed to our satisfaction. The finished work was EXCELLENT! Thank you FSM for the professional and expert repair. Jacob and Dan are an awesome team and represent FSM as the great company they are.
Hello! We're glad our team was able to show you a 5-star experience and we appreciate your kind words. - Foundation Systems of Michigan
The encapsulation went very well. The workers removed existing insulation and did a nice job putting up new insulation. They also sprayed the mold on the floor joists above, although that cost extra. The problem arose when the foreman came to rear of the house to see the patio to be removed. He seemed completely surprised at its size and told me quite frankly that they were not given its dimensions, and so had no way to haul that much concrete away that day. The fact that they didn't have the size of the patio is bizarre, since an inspector came to our house twice (once to quote, the other to sign documents) and had measured the patio both times. The workers broke up the concrete and said they would arrange for someone to come out and remove the concrete-- also frustrating as I'm a teacher, and this work was being done the very last weekday of summer break. Now I can see how miscommunications can happen, and I understand that the workers couldn't haul away the material that day. That's not my issue. My issue is that here we are Wednesday of next week, and not only does my back yard still look like the apocalypse has hit, but they didn't even call to schedule anything! I've heard nothing! When I called them myself at 4PM I was sent to the scheduling people only to get a recording and a voice mail! When you mess up, it's only a problem if you don't make it right, and these people seem wholly unconcerned that they messed up and left a huge mess in my back yard. I understand that the removal of concrete isn't their forte, but this is just silly. Update: After calling, they scheduled an appointment to haul away the concrete the next week, and while they did it, the representative was really pushy trying to upsell me on tons of extras. If I ever need work done on my foundation again, I will definitely find someone else. I suggest you consider doing the same.
I hired this company 8 months ago to waterproof my basement. The quality of work they do is really bad. The vapor barrier they installed has gaps and wrinkles. Gaps where the floor edge and vapor barrier. Water is still on the basement floor. Their warranty they give is useless. BEWARE. The old say "After the sale is what counts. " Not this company. Hire another company... Do NOT hire Foundations of Michigan. I wish I could give them a negative star. I noticed they have a lot of negative reviews. A photo is worth a thousand words
They finished the job in 1 day! It took us a long time to compare various contractors, but we are glad to have chosen Foundation Systems of Michigan! They are responsive, and they also do a good Service as well. Thank you very much!
Can I go lower than "F?" Very expensive, and when we had a rainstorm 2 weeks ago, the system could not keep up and the alarm went off for more than 24 hours. My crawl space was like a water bed under the liner FSM installed. I spent over $10k for a system that in the end did not work. I was told (by FSM) the crock they installed was too small and could not sustain the water. Oh, and my beautiful newly lined crawlspace is no longer the beautiful crawlspace I spent thousands on. But it’s covered under their warranty right? Nope. Shall I continue? From the beginning the pump was running every few minutes – which seemed like a lot. So we called FSM and they said it was normal. Well, it wasn’t. Again, the system couldn’t keep up – a larger crock would have. But guess what? I’m told I can upgrade the system for another $3,000. No thank you.
