The work was done on the scheduled day, the team arrived on time. they worked VERY hard each day (it took two days), and attempted to keep the dust contained. This would be my one issue with the job they did. They encapsulated the area they would use to gain access to the house, and to reach the basement. They attempted to encapsulate all the "stuff" I had stored in the basement. They were only partially successful. They left gaps in the encapsulation into which large amounts of cement dust drifted and settled on everything. They did have a big filter running during the job, and swept the floor quite well before they left. Still the entire basement had to be wiped down and vacuumed using a HEPA type filter. We thought we understood the scope of the dust that would be created - we were woefully mistaken. I blame myself for not being more aware of the encapsulating they were doing. I am confident that if I had asked for more plastic wrap, they would had done it. Bottom line - it is a very messy job, and you need to get involved in the encapsulation process Would I recommend them to my friends - definitely.. The leak I had in my basement (the reason they did the work) has not returned, and the basement looks good. They are an excellent company with a good product, many years of experience, good reviews, excellent team members, and very responsive to your questions. Just be prepared for a big time clean up.

Response from Company:

Thanks you for your detailed feedback. Glad the end result is a DRY basement!

Inspector came out quickly to look at our leaky basement. We were provided with a very thorough explanation of the process. We had LOTS of questions and he answered them completely. Scheduled job for a couple weeks out. Very reasonable pricing. Very professional crew came out, repaired both basement walls, cleaned up & were done with in 2 hours. When I went downstairs to look - you would have never known they even were working down there it was just as clean as when they arrived! We are quite happy with the overall process, starting from the friendly and informative inspection all the way through completion and cleanup. Have already recommended them a couple times!!!

Response from Company:

Thank you for your feedback! Our entire team is focused on delivering a professional job to each and every customer. We strive to treat your home like it was our own. Glad you were pleased with your experience...thanks for choosing FSM!

FSM did an amazing job on our crawl space! Our home smells fresh and feels cleaner. When we moved onto lakefront property 2 years ago, Lake St Clair was much lower. This year we have record breaking high water levels, and I THANK GOD we invested in this system! We actually have such a dry crawl space, that we have some items stored down there. Worth every penny!

Response from Company:

Thank you for your review! Crawl Spaces do not have to bet wet, damp and musty! Glad you are enjoying your clean, dry crawlspace. Thank you for choosing FSM!

We had bids from two firms; FSM offered more features at a lower cost. The work was still expensive, but we are very happy with the results. Due to the wet nature and all-at-once thaw of the spring, and the resulting level of the water table, we had a serious water problem in the crawl space (of which a small portion is concrete to accommodate mechanical systems). FSM installed drains and replaced our single sump pump -- which had no backup in case of power failure -- with their "triple-safe" pump system which includes battery backup. In addition, FSM encapsulated the entire crawl space with super-thick material. Their technicians worked very hard, all day (it was planned as a one-day job, and they finished it, but it required a LOT of effort) with few breaks, and the results have been well worth the expenditure. (We had a geothermal heating/cooling system installed a couple of weeks later, and that contractor was delighted by the condition of the crawl space -- especially since he had seen it prior to FSM's work.) The only downside is scheduling -- due to the extensive water table problem in this area, FSM's installation and maintenance are both now badly backed up, but that's hardly FSM's fault. Installation customer service (via phone) was both friendly and helpful. We highly recommend FSM.

Response from Company:

Thank you for your feedback! 2019 has been a WET year! We're glad to hear that our crew waterproofed and encapsulated your crawl space to your satisfaction. We hope you enjoy your "new," usable crawl space. Thank you for your business.

Did the work in 2014. Was pricey but worth it. What makes it worth it - FSM stands by their work. Our home is built on a swamp. We’re going to have water. Their product has had issues twice, but they come out and fix it - no questions asked and no cost. THEY STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT! One day the water alarm was going off in the crawl. I couldn’t get under there to stop it. Busy as they are, they made us a priority and had someone here by noon to stop it and assess. I am incredibly pleased.

Response from Company:

Thank you for taking the time to review our company! Our quality products and exceptional customer service speaks for itself. We may not be the cheapest company, but we take the most care in ensuring our customers are completely satisfied. Thanks again for choosing FSM!

Horrible experience with FSM. They destroyed my vinyl tile, they left the basement a mess with thick dirt that took me weeks to get clean. They are expensive. They didn’t pass the inspection the first day, then another crew came out on another day and left the job unfinished and the cracks in my basement wall unsealed. They cracked a pipe that started a leaking all in my basement. They didn’t put the supports back under the stairs and neglected to let us know so that the stairs slid down and cracked the edging upstairs. We where told were lucky they didn’t collapse on us as we where walking up and down on them. They failed the out side inspection for the sump pump and had to do that again. They left with the sump pump plugs hanging on the side and neglected to tell me how to operate it. I had to pay for the $75 base fee plus the $10 for a plumbing permit. The city asked me why I didn’t just add the $10 on to FSM permit and I told them that I had called and FSM kept telling me that they would get back to me without doing so. I was told I would be sent instructions on how to care for the installation and what not to do so as not to void my warranty but every time I called they said that I wouldn’t be recieving that until it is paid in full. I received a letter about a past due without even receiving a bill first. I was told by another company that they could have done the whole basement for what they had charge me for only doing 3 walls. I have been in and out of the hospital during all of this and was recently in ICU. This has taken a major toll on my life.

Response from Company:

Thank you for the feedback- we sincerely apologize that you did not receive the experience you deserved. Our Customer Experience Advocate will be in touch with you to discuss the issues.
