Reviews
Write a ReviewThe work was just recently finished. The basement still seems damp but way better. What upsets me the most is the sales methods and deal I ended up striking. We have a baby and another kid in the house and after my wife got wind there was black mold, she was ready to pay anything. I take some blame for not taking more time and allowing us to make the deal at the table with the sales guy. He gave us a deal we couldn't afford - but if we signed that day it would be close to what we could just barely afford. We ended up doing it for the very top of what we could afford, sacrificing other home improvements. In retrospect I see quotes that were half the cost and less that I should have gone with. He might try to sell you on a proprietary pipe or somehting, but I saw similar products at Home Depot. The worst part was that they ensured me there would be air containment when they were cutting concrete and scraping mold. There was no sign that they did this. He also said that they employ 40% veterans as their work force and don't "drive through the Home Deopot parking lot like some". I can tell you that the crew that showed up were not veterans...or neccesarily great English speakers. Im fine with employing whoever you see fit - but this seemed like a misrepresentation. You pay top dollar for these guys and get very regular service.
Had problems from the start of job to the end. 1. A finish basement wall (drywall) that was not to be cut was cut full of access panels to provide easier access to the cement block wall that was crack needing repair, there is a 2'ft space between the drywall and the cement block wall for maintenance but the foreman Tom said it would take more time to do the job behind the drywall and it was quicker and easier for him to cut through the drywall to work on the cement block wall. Even after being told by me not to cut the drywall until I spoke to the sales manager Mark he cut the wall without my approval. The foreman attempted to repair the panel holes he made but the repair job was poorly done and he left after stating he was following instructions from the office. The sales manager Mark Denny paid $450.00 for the repair and painting of the repair done by the foreman Tom but once you cut so many panel holes into a drywall it will never look the same. The man doing the repair had to do a lot more than paint the wall that was damaged he had to do more patch work and paint the other walls to get an even match costing me a lot out of my pocket because of the communication problem. Mark and Tom did their best but if the foreman Tom would of listen I would not had to spend all this extra money. 2. Foreman left the job site for 3-4 hours and I only speak English and the crew could not communicate in English which made a bad situation even more hard for me to try and correct. 3. Job site (basement), steps, yard and driveway were left dusty and trash cover my outside area.
Took longer than expected to schedule the job but but it was done great overall, otherwise.
Great team, sales person and work crew were great and professional. Only downside is that they are very expensive and you can get same work done for 1,000's less but.... i don't know if the work from one of the less expensive companies would be as high quality. Looking at my basement the day after and it looks great.
I would NOT recommend them. They didn't finish the job they were contracted for the first time. Luckily we noticed and had them come back to finish, but it took too long to set up the second appointment. Also they were very argumentative and unprofessional when we tried to explain the job wasn't finished and blamed us. I've honestly never had worse customer service and because they didn't finish the job the first time I don't really trust the work I did, which isn't good for something as important as mold removal and it wasn't cheap! I'll spare the rest of the details but in short the experience was a nightmare.
The work that was done looked really good. However after the room was waterproofed the room next to it started leaking. Also the rough casting over the walls was wet in quite a few places, basically all the corners. Why this room wasn't quoted initially was a huge oversite by the water proofing "specialists" So now we have one half dry room and one wet room that all the water pushes into. When I contacted them about this issue I was told it was not quoted or included and it would be an additional $2100 to do that room. Not what you want to hear when you've already dumped 17k into a project expecting no water and you still have water. Would not recommend
Josh, I would like to first start out by apologizing for your negative experience. This is not the experience we wish our customers to have. Our records indicate that we sent our service department to your home where it was determined that the spare room in your basement was getting water. It was then realized that additional work would need to be done. We applied many discounts to the cost of the additional work and are willing to rectify this new issue. As you stated, this additional work was not quoted and would come with an additional cost, but this was not an oversight. Our inspector visited your home October 24, 2016. Based on his estimate which is established by what you stated your problems were with your basement and what he found during his inspection is how the scope of work is determined. It was agreed upon that the main part of your basement is where the major problem occurred. However, we always recommend a full system be installed over the entire basement because a major issue can mask a smaller one. These smaller issues will not be brought to light until the major one is resolved. After the project was completed on November 4, 2016 the foreman of the crew asked that you fill out a Customer Survey. Your responses on this survey was as follows: Work was done per contract, on time and done well. Foreman was very understanding and helpful. We use these surveys to judge our customers experiences as well as get an understanding of how the install crew did/behaved while at both of your properties. Our company and our employees do their best to complete jobs and deliver an optimum customer experience. We apologize again for your experience and If there is anything we can do for you in the future please feel free to contact the office at 800-700-9171.
Hard working crew, polite, knew what they were doing and never seemed to take a break during the long day. They cleaned everything up and were out in 2 days - 2 basements, french drains, 2 pumps and mold removal.
Everything was fine but I think the price was a little bit high and they should have given me the back up pump and battery for that price.
