The Lifetime guarantee is a lie!
Chris was very pleasant and thorough in his explanation of the product. After our initial meeting I had called him a few times b/c I was still feeling a bit unsure of whether I wanted wall anchors or carbon fiber straps. I had been reading a lot of different things online and had also heard things from another foundation company - all of which left me very confused. Chris addressed all my questions very confidently and knowledgeably and I felt more sure of my decision. After the work, any issues that I spotted were taken care of immediately. Thank you everyone!!!
I was happy with the service I received from the inspector, however I informed the foreman to call me 30 minutes prior to leaving so I could check the final job before they left and he never did. Therefore I could not question him about the non-replacement of the the 2 by 4's that were removed when the drainage system was added to the basement floor. I was only informed they would not replace the drywall.
He was very honest and let me know that we needed no work done.
My experience was very good. Thje engineer was able to come and and state exactly what the problem is.
My floor had been sagging noticeably in my kitchen for years. I had decided to redo the flooring and needed it level to do so. I spoke to a JES rep at a home show and they talked about their systems to do this. I had a rep out to look at things and do some measurements - the floor was out nearly 2 inches along a fairly localized area and he recommended a 16foot supplemental support beam. The crew showed up to do the work on time, explained exactly how they were going to do it and how they were going to deviate slightly from the original plan (for the better). Then they went to work - they even brought a generator so as not to use power from my home. They dug holes for the supports but upon double checking measurements found an error in the original measurements, discussed it with me, filled the holes and redug for concrete. The next day they were on time again, got to work quickly, and were ready to jack things up pretty soon after. I have plaster walls and an older home so when they began jacking there was all sorts of noises and creaking. I also got some pretty significant cracking whichg I expected having read up on the process and knowing the amount being moved wasn't trivial. Part way through the process the lead, Brian, crawled out of the crawlspace and came up to check on me and see if there was any serious damage. He admitted he wanted to see if I was getting angry or not as he judged from the noises that things were moving pretty good but I explained I expected som edamage and showed him my areas of concern. We moved some things and took some measurements and then they went back to work, a few more pops and creaks and the floor was level. He checked this both in my crawlspace and inside my home using lasers. He said the cracking I experienced was way worse than he expected but I wasn't very surprised or angry - the floor had been sagging for a long time. My floor is now perfectly level as judged from a 4ft level I own and their measurements. Things I expected to get screwed up weren't and nothing was damaged beyond repair. Brian explained that he saw some things with the main beam that he wanted to correct but felt I shoudl wait a few days to let things relax and settle. He was back bright and early this morning with his crew, got to work quickly, and just left after explaining that things went well. This job is now complete and while Brian did point out some things I should watch he wasn't pushy and was very helpful in helping me figure out work to be considered in the future and how it should probably be done for best effect. I'm happy with the work done. The workers were professional, polite, didn't make a mess, and explained what was being done, why, and told me why they thought things needed to be worked on to begin with (settling and some odd construction). They took the time to assess how things were progressing during the job and had warned me I might see some damage due to the nature of the work - and I did. They were concerned about my feelings, about my property, and were considerate while they worked. I appreciate the job well done and am happy to have gotten this issue taking care of as it's been nagging at me for a long time. I feel the job was done well and I appreciate that I wasn't treated like an idiot. Instead I received respect and good explanations about the issue they were working on. I'd use these guys again and am happy I used this company.
.
We had to reschedule appt. due to unforeseen emergency. the company also made an attempt to find property; the fact this company made every effort to show up on time and as scheduled is a good sign they will get the job done.
Excellent attitude. Knowledge of problem and analysis methods.
