Reviews
Write a ReviewThe workman arrived on the day and at the approximate time as scheduled. Â We reviewed the job -- extend and bury a sump pump discharge line from the existing discharge to the rear of the property. Â He dug the ditch to extend the line and asked if it was OK. Â I told him at that time that it should be deeper to bury the line. Â He proceeded to (slightly) deepen the trench and attempted to cover it (it was raining a bit at the time). Â When it stopped raining I went out and inspected the work -- there were sections of pipe that weren't covered and one section that looked like he just laid the pipe on the ground and tried to cover it with dirt. Â I called their local Northern Virginia office and they sent him back out. Â He attempted to cover some of the bare spots, but the pipe is still not buried below the surface of the ground. Â We are now left with a ridge across our yard. Â The company knows, or should know as of writing this review, that we were unsatisfied with the job.
I was home to observe and asked LOTS of questions of both crews. First crew did the drilling and filling and the second crew did the precise work of raising. Interesting to watch. I have pics for anyone who wants to know what the work and finished product looks like. The reason we wanted the porch level was for possible sale of the home. That is not possible until we finish the porch; i.e., to cover it with some material to hide the concrete circles. DO ask for pics so you know what it will look like on completion. DO ask for a detailed walk-through of what the job involves. Pls do not list my address with any posting. thanks, karen
Thank you for inviting us into your home to provide a solution to your porch settlement. If you have any further questions or comments on the process and results, please contact JES Vice President Scott Davis 877-537-9675.

[member name removed], thank you for inviting us into your home to help find a solution. We're so happy you took the time to post your positive experience and results working with JES! We install thousands of jobs per year and have equally as many happy, satisfied customers that we have been able to help. However it seems the very small number of customers that might have an issue are the ones that normally post on Angie's List, not the large majority of satisfied customers. Its refreshing, and encouraging, to see your testimony to the high level of service that JES works to achieve with every homeowner.
Excellent service! Friendly and personable, yet very professional, no nonsense folks. Planning to bring them back next year to work on the basement. Highly recommend.

Although they had to return twice to finish the original job, they stood by their work. Since the original install, we had service from them on two occasions. The most recent time, it appeared that one of the SaniDrys was malfunctioning. They originally scheduled a service call for May 12 between 12-2 with a technician named Alex out of the Manassas office. When he was a no show, I called and was told that they did not have us on the schedule. They were very apologetic and re-scheduled for the following Saturday, May 17. In fact, the manager, Tom, called to personally apologize for the mix up and they offered free filter replacements for my trouble. On the 17th, the technician, Miguel, arrived on time and was professional. JES replaced the SaniDry, even though it was recently out of warranty.

Thank you for inviting us into your home to help solve your crawlspace issues. Our Business Manager in the Manassas office has extended apologies for any frustration & inconvenience you have experienced. He has indicated that he would personally take care your concerns and resolve this issue. JES has set up the service call to review the situation. JES also has indicated to you that we would provide a year of free maintenance on your system.
poor work and lack of communication, to many problems to list here. Don't even consider this company for your job.
We are aware there was some unusual delays due to the county's permit process. However, we would like to discuss any other issues you may have with our service and installation that we are unaware of. Feel free to contact our corporate office at 877-537-9675. - Scott Davis, PE, Vice President
On the morning of the scheduled appt., which was set at 1 pm, I noticed I missed a call from JES at approx 10 am. I called JES to ask them if they were calling to confirm the 1 pm appt, which they replied yes and confirmed 1 pm. As soon as I hung up, I found a voice mail. It was JES stating that their inspector is sick and would not be able to make it. I called JES back, expained what just happened and asked if they were coming or not. Also, the 3 hr. notice put several people involved in a bind. The receptionist who had confirmed the 1 pm appt was unaware of the voicemail conceling the appt. I was routed to someone else who after some prodding, agreed to send someone else. When this person arrived, he found every excuse possible NOT to inspect the crawlspace, and at one point stated I need to pay an engineer $750 first, before he could give me an estimate. We subsequently gave this $10,000 job to another company.
[member name removed], I see that you did not contract with JES for the work but may have experienced a communication issue in our scheduling department. The response you indicated that the Inspector gave you concerning the crawl space sounds highly unusual - our certified Inspectors are known for their thorough inspections and good customer communication. In an effort to learn more about who the Inspector was and to remedy any future situations such as this, we have tried to look up your name and property in our system. However we did not find it. Did you make the appointment under your name or someone else's name? Was the inspection of at your property or at another property? We also tried to track down a phone number for you via 411 information so we could call to investigate the allegations, but it appears your number is unlisted. Please call Eric at 877-537-9675 so I can gather the information to follow up. Thank you.
My house is 30 years old. The crawl space held water and rarely dried out. When my sump pump failed they installed at new one under my home warranty contract and when they found a leak in one of the pipes after they completed the job, they let me know so I was able to call my home warranty and have it repaired. They emailed me pictures of the completed work and followed up with me to make sure everything was fine and working well. Although they were suppose to level off all of my crawl space there seems to be a section that was not leveled. That would be my only complaint to date. I feel they completed two jobs for the price of one. Another company was going to charge twice as much for the same amount of work.
