Write a ReviewGreat Job !
I was extremely satisfied with the two workers who waterproofed my basement. Their professionalism deserves praise.
The only reason the "customer service" rating was only 3 1/2 is because of the scheduler, Tracy. She was rude, and wasn't informed before she called me. Ours was an emergency, and was already scheduled in three days. She said they were so backed up, she couldn't see room for a couple of weeks. This caused even more aggravation to an already-frustrating situation. Like I said, she was rude. Also, the crew kept forgetting to shut the door to the room and got all the furniture covered with dust throughout the lower level. When I complained, they did a pretty good job cleaning it up. The room where it had been drilled was a mess. The visqueen did little or nothing to protect anything. They just taped up a vertical barrier. It would have been more effective to throw some visqueen over all the furniture, too. The salesman, the waterproofing crew and the drywaller were all very efficient and did a great job. They were all polite and a welcome presence in our home. They did their job, did it well, and I would recommend them any day! (Although we had to spend an hour cleaning up all the drywall dust in the location of the work. It was a mess. The young man's truck was too small to carry a shop vac, and we don't have one, so cleanup was difficult.) I thank those in a position to have fit us in as quickly as they did, because it helped us so much!
We had a basement leak when it rained. We had 2 other bids both of which wanted to put drains along the floor where it met the wall. Home Spec did not feel this was necessary and said all we needed to do is fill the wall cracks and rod holes only. We did this. A week after the repair we had a hard rain and the basement was still leaking. They can out and said the warranty does not cover this new leak, too bad, and you will need a floor drain for another $2400. Needless to say i feel ripped off. They fix one problem only to cause another and then say their warranty is no good and want to fix the new problem for a price. I believe they should fix it right at no additional charge. Their warranty is meaningless.
The personnal were very knowledgable knew their product well and respectful.
Great to work with.
The guys did a great job. They were on time, worked efficiently, and went over & beyond with their clean up . I recommend Homespec to anyone needing window wells. They were especially careful of existing garden plantings when digging for this project.
This job was actually sub-contracted out since it was such a small job. I really appreciated Home Spec offering me another alternative. Because of wet weather, it did take longer for the job to be completed. But it is now finished and looks great!!
Excellent workmanship, repaired cracks in basement the correct way (unlike the previous homeowner). Worker was professional and answered all my questions politely. Would definitely recommend his company!
Work began May 2015 only a few days after I saw the salesman. A 2 man crew jack hammered through the interior basement concrete floor at the back foundation wall where the water from a drywell, into which a water softener discharged, was creating seepage through the cement block wall. A drainage trench with piping and stones was installed along with a sump pump system. Concrete was poured and smoothed over the finished system. The related plumbing was installed through the wall into drainage piping which ran underground away from the house. A good benefit is that HS has its own contracted plumbers who detached and reattached the water holding tank; iron filter unit and water softener which had to be moved during the work. The workers were very accommodating for installation suggestions and in answering questions. Work was done in a day. Clean up was good. Pricing was competitive. I would recommend HS for foundation-basement waterproofing.
