Reviews
Write a ReviewWow, Groundworks made this so easy! From the quote to finished products! Every step of the way was taken care of and communication was clear and on point! The teams showed up with in slotted time frame and ready to work. Both, Forman Guillermo H. And Osbgldo A. were so professional and very helpful during and after the process! Jonathan H. Was amazing they even got the whole job done under the time given! Two thumbs up from us! Will for sure recommend these guys and company to any friends and family! Thanks for making something so stressful go so smoothly!
I had a fantastic experience with Groundworks from start to finish. I used them to insulate our crawl space. First, it was super easy and quick to get an inspection and a quote from Nick. Then, the team (Foreman Guillermo H, Co-Foreman Osbaldo H and Installer Jonathan H) arrived promptly and got right to work. I am so impressed by how quickly they cleaned and executed the project -- they were in and out in 3 hours. They were so dirty after and pulled so much debris out of the crawl space but you'd never know based on how clean they left the place. I really appreciated that too because it means I don't have to spend time cleaning up today. Thanks for all your hardwork!
Jorge Correa, Adrian Mendoza, Ranion Gonzales did a fantastic job. They were extremely professional from the initial "groundbreaking" to the completion of the job. I would recommend them to my family and friends. Lucas Farland was also very professional. He was confident in his assessment of our foundation issues. He is the reason we went ultimately went with Groundworks.
Mike and Zack were fabulous! Professional, quick, and detail oriented.
Silvino, Paulino, and Angel were amazing. My job foundation anchor job was in February in the snow, wind, and cold weather and they got it done under the scheduled time. They were a joy to work with and I would recommend them and Groundworks to anyone
Effective and efficient completion of my job. Very happy
I was in the process of selling my house. I contracted them to install two supports in my crawlspace. Two weeks after they installed it was inspected. During their install they broke a grey water drain pipe. It had been leaking in my crawlspace since the day they were done. Tim tindle from groundworks came out. He said they're not going to pay for damages due to the fact I can't prove they did it... They were the last people in my crawlspace. Ridiculous! I was not even seeking large amounts of money. $75 charge for a licensed plumber to reconnect the pipes it's all I was seeking. Do not use this company. They'll charge you an arm and a leg and will not take responsibility for anything they mess up.
We are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied. If there is anything we can do to remediate your concerns please let us know. -Groundworks Colorado
Zack and Jackson arrived earlier than their scheduled time (big plus!), completed their work with efficiency and professionalism and walked me through the work when they were done. Excellent in every regard!
This review is based on my interaction with Complete Basement Systems (CBS)/Groundworks and only details the process from the initial request for service until the job was finished. I had heard many good things regarding CBS and the reviews from previous customers was always good. However, this is not one of those reviews. I am not going tell the reader of this review to use CBS/Groundworks or go with another company. They can decide on their own. I will say, make sure you read the contract. When calling CBS and placed on hold, you will hear a message stating how much pride they take in communicating and keeping the customer informed every step of the way in the process. The backstory – We put our home up for sale in mid-May 2022 and received several offers. We accepted an offer, and they had an inspection done on the house and it was discovered that the supports in the crawlspace needed to be replaced and they rescinded the offer. I got several recommendations for a structural company including CBS from my realtor. I setup an appointment for an evaluation and quote with Jonathan Falcone at CBS on June 10th. The quote was sent in a timely manner, and I contacted Jonathan regarding me doing some of the demo work. We made arrangements to discuss what demo work I needed to do, and he came on June 14th to show me everything that needed to be done. He said that an engineer would look at everything and either the engineer or CBS (I can’t remember which) would apply for a permit for the work. We scheduled the work to run from August 2nd – 4th. We then put the house back on the market stipulating the work to be done and received an offer that we accepted. We closed on the house mid-July with the buyers being aware of the timeframe for completion of the work. The following is a timeline on the communication between me and CBS. Early to mid-July, the utility marking came out to show all underground utilities. I did not get any notification of when they were coming out. I called Jonathan and asked if it was kind of early as there was still several weeks before the work is to start. He said that it was the utility company that sets it up and CBS doesn’t do the utility locate. Not a problem. On July 26th, I received a text from Oleg, a private contractor, to set up a sewer scope for the next day. He shows up on the appointed time and looks at the sewer lines, clean outs, and the sewer (?) cap in the middle of the street. The only piece of equipment used for the scope was a flashlight. Once again, not a problem. I completed the demo that Jonathan and I agreed upon the weekend before the job was to start. On Aug 1st, one day before the work is to start, I received a voicemail from Karen with CBS/Groundworks. She said they had to postpone the work because the municipality had not issued a permit for the work yet and to call her back. I called back and left a message. I went to the city’s website to look for the status of the permit and it showed there wasn’t one for the address. I then called the permit office in case I had made a mistake and talked to someone in the permit office regarding the status of the permit and was told an application for the address was never submitted. I contacted Jonathan and was told the engineer they usually use for this type of work stopped communicating with them. He said they tried to contact him several times with no luck. He said mine wasn’t the only job affected and that they would get a new engineer out asap to look at the work. I asked why I hadn’t been notified prior to the day before the start of the job that they were having an issue. He said that it was the job of the office to take care of it. I then called Karen a second time and was able to talk to her. I asked her why we hadn’t been notified that they didn’t submit an application for permit, and she said she was on leave. When I asked if someone took over her duties while she was gone, she said yes, her manager was supposed to it, but she was busy doing “manager” things and wasn’t able to get to it. She said they have to schedule a new engineer to come out and look at job. Had I known that an engineer was actually going to come out, I would have inquired about the status weeks earlier. On August 3rd, the engineer from a different company came out and did an extensive inspection of what was needed. He even went up to the attic to ensure the bracing was good. On August 8th, I called Karen for an update. She said she would be working with Jonathan regarding the scheduling. Later that afternoon, I received a text from Jonathan saying they wanted to do a walk through with the Production Supervisor to make sure they had everything they needed for the crew to do the work. I asked why this wasn’t done prior to the original install (8/1). He said it is typically done closer to the install to prepare the crew. He never said why the walk through wasn’t scheduled in July, which once again indicates they knew they weren’t going to make the original start date. To coordinate a job like this with multiple deadlines, reminders should have been setup throughout the process. On August 11th, I checked the city’s permit site and it showed no change. On August 12th, I called Karen to schedule the walk-through with Jonathan, Jose (Production Supervisor), and the buyers for the 17th. She said the permit should be issued on the 23rd and they were hoping to start the work on August 30th but that could change as well. We met on the 17th at the location and asked Jonathan how the “ball was dropped” this bad and he stated, “it is what it is” and we basically needed to work on getting the job done. Though I wasn’t thrilled about what was happening, I agreed we needed to get the process started to a positive result. After Jose looked at crawlspace, he said it was going to take more than initially quoted. They had more dirt than originally thought to move and it would cost more. After asking several times, how much more, Jonathan finally answered it would be a little under $5000 not including the dumpster. At this meeting, we agreed that I would pay for the dumpster and Jonathan would pay for the demo of the additional access points to the crawlspace. He said he would be paying for it out of his own pocket. When I got the change order, it showed the additional cost of the work, that I would pay for the dumpster, and the demo would be “CFI to pay”. On August 19th and 22nd, I checked the city permit site for the status of the application with no change. Jonathan sent me a screen shot that showed it was in processing, so I must’ve not had the correct access. Several days later, I registered on the city’s building permit site and was able to find the application and that it was finally approved. I never received any notification from CBS that they got the permit, which to this point I didn’t care, I was just happy it was done. On August 30th, I requested another update from Jonathan. He responded on the 31st that he did not have an update, but I was free to contact the office and ask for an update. I called the office to speak to a manager for an update and was forwarded to the voicemail of Brooke. She called back either that day or a day later and I went through the entire timeline that I am doing now. She apologized for the miscommunication, and I stated it was more a “no” communication. She said she would work on it and would get back with me when she had more info. I asked at that time if I could talk to Scott, the GM of CBS. She said she would pass on the request and that he was in meetings that day. On September 2nd, she texted and said that she contacted the buyer and told them that they have them scheduled for November 1st – 4th and that the buyers are not thrilled about the new date. I called her to discuss it as I wasn’t jumping for joy either. She said the date was mainly to get them on the schedule and there are usually cancellations from other customers, and we would be put in those spots. On September 8th I requested another update from Brooke, but she had nothing new to report. On September 9th, I called Br
Zack and Eric did a great job leveling my concrete patio and steps. They also sealed the cracks and the end result looks great.
