Write a ReviewUnprofessional and untrained my machine was left in worse condition DO NOT USE !!
Disappointed after previously having a wonderful experience with Bear Services. Bear had serviced our house a number of times and was our go-to. So this winter when our boiler suddenly stopped functioning we called on them. It was particularly urgent as we have a newborn. We were left wanting having paid $700 for a repair that did not solve the issue. When Bear came on-site to asses the problem they diagnosed the issue as a defective probe. This repair was over $700. We had this replaced, and after less than one hour the boiler completely stopped working again. Bear returned to our property multiple times but could not solve the issue. They informed us that the chimney was restricting airflow which was causing the problem. I paid a hefty amount to have a chimney company come and assess, to which they said nothing was wrong. I contacted Bear again. We were told we would have to wait until after the weekend, to receive service on Monday. But being that we had a newborn this was unacceptable with frigid temperatures outside and inside our home. Finally, I reached out to another company that restored our heat that Saturday. The amount of money and time spent was unnecessarily excessive. I understand Bear did their best, but I question whether the $700 probe ever needed replacing. I reached out for a partial refund because of this poor experience and heard nothing back for weeks. After multiple emails, I was just told any refund is denied.
Great work
A little less than 2 years ago, I had my dishwasher serviced by Bear. James McFarlane came to determine why dishwasher will not drain. He replaces drain valve, that was not the problem. Then replaced main board which fixed the problem. He mentioned that my springs were stretched, and he could do that work for $180. I called last month to get this work done. I referred them to the previous work order, gave them the model number, and they said they would try to get this done in one visit. Ben showed up, and said what is the problem. I said the door slams open, told him I called with model number and noted the springs were stretched, and all he said was and nobody tells me anything. He stood in my kitchen, and figured out a quote to do the work, which was $450 plus dollars to replace all the springs and cables without ever even opening the dishwasher. Then told me today feel is $95, and he did nothing. I paid the service fee for doing nothing, then called their office and asked to talk to Jim. No response. I sent a note to the office to refund my $95. No response. I sent another email asking to have Jim call me, no response. Ben did leave me a message that the springs are not available, gave me the part numbers, which I already had, and said maybe I would have some luck getting them. And by the way, I took it out myself, and the problem was not the springs, (some stretching) or the cables (like new), but the attachment that holds the spring separated from the plastic. I spent $8 to repair that, and put it back together and it works perfect. As of this date, no response from Bear to refund my $95 or to discuss what happened.
Last September I hired Bear Services to fix my ice maker, which was leaking. They broke the plastic cover on my refrigerator and then disregarded several attempts of mine to contact them about fixing it. They came back to my house with the wrong parts and to date (Dec 7) have not fixed what they broke. So here's a company that you pay to fix something and instead they break something and don't fix it. They are terrible. I wouldn't hire Bear Services to take out my garbage let alone hire them to actually repair an appliance. Save your money hire someone else!!!
They were on time, quick and efficient.
Nothing to add.
The Representative understood our needs and went out of her way to be sure they could do the job. Scheduling was very quick and the technician was super nice and highly skilled. I highly recommend this company.
Good technician.
