Reviews
Write a ReviewWe were told that the cement needed to cure for 3-4 days. We could then move furniture against outside walls. We were pleased with the expediency that the work took place.

JES performance in executing the job is very professional and quality of services is outstanding, that exceeds our expectation. From the initial inspection by JES REP Chris Yi, the work package was carefully presented and explained, which was very easy to understand. The work site supervisor Amador explained the details of worked done, very professional to deal with, and true to his words. Three weeks after the work done, Chris came back and follow up to fine out if things are working properly to our satisfaction and verify if all the warranty documentations received by us. I will highly recommend JES of VA Beach to my Friends and our neighbors who wishes similar repair, or Waterproofing job.
This company is one of the most deserving of a negative ten stars. They did a good job on getting the mess under my house cleaned up and I was impressed for years. Then the problems started. They had put two pumps and a humidifier under the house, and it worked well for several years. Then last year I noticed that the pump was not pumping any water out the the drain at the street that I had rigged up. I called them to come check it and hey said everything was workings. Then they checked for the mold smell under the house and found Black mold under the house. They had assured me this would not happen and that the humidity under the house would be OK. Not So. They had charged me $16,000 to do the work, and gave me a life time guarantee. Then they told me they could spray for mold and it would cost me $3,000 more dollars. After I got off the floor, I called another company to crawl under the house and check it out. Yes the mold was there, but also discovered that they had no GRI installed and they had just jury-rigged the electrical wires under the house, with some orange extension cords. What an idiot I was for trusting them. They had no system set up to tell me if the pumps were working and the dehumidifier. They told me after the inspection which I paid $200 for that one pump was not working so they just unplugged it. No explanation to fix it or replace it. Then the company I had go under the house, told me that under the bay window, they had not wrapped the house or enclosed with plastic like they said they did. Standing water was still under there. What a smelly mess. Even though their "inspector" told me everything was OK. Now I have a sign in my yard telling this story. JES did work for me. JES lied to me. JES did not honor contract. I would not hire them again. I will leave it there till they fix this mess. I could tell you a lot more, but if you are thinking about hiring this company, please do no do it. My wife is so mad at me, and I deserve it. I have been a state registered contractor since 1971 and have never seen a more disreputable company.

I have since had problems with this section of the house with more movement, and severe cracks in the brickwork. Â I had called and scheduled a meeting about 6 year ago, taking a time off to meet with them, but hey never showed. Â I not aware of they ever attempting to reach me. Â I tried to reach them in the past couple of months, but they do not return my phone calls, or a web site request for an estimate to do additional repairs. Â I need the problem fix, and would pay a price if that was the only way to get it corrected. Â The warranty does not appear to be worth the paper it is written on. It appeared to me when they were doing the work, that they were placing a pier unit just to one side of the crack, and another 4 or 5 feet to the other side, leaving a 4 foot or so section of footing floating above the shrink swell soil. Â I suspect that this section has since broken off, and is now moving independent of the remaining structure. Except for this, the other pier units seem to be stable. Â Additional work I had done at another time to return the chimney to a perpendicular for about $4,000 also seems to be working satisfactorily.
Workers conducted themselves as true professionals and cleaned up after themselves.
After the nice salesman made his promises, JES proceeded to ignore every one. The entire job was a fiasco: arrived late, didn't have right equipment, took five days longer than estimated, didn't have enough crew, left the basement filthy (cleaning crew of one showed up with no cleaning equipment), left the yard torn up, ignored requests to repair or pay for repairs to the electrical lines severed when they removed old paneling. Do not let these people into your house.
Company showed a lot of respect for me and my property. Super job and relationship with the initial inspector.
See above comment!
They were so busy this summer it took 6 weeks to get on the schedule and then 20 minutes before the scheduled estimate the inspector called and said he had an emergency. My return call to the inspector was not addressed in 4 days. When they finally got back to me and realized I wanted to buy their most expensive service, then the customer service got better. They even had people come out to observe my foundation repair because apparently it was fairly rare, and very pricy. When the work crew showed up to work on the day of the job they asked me where they were supposed to drill to install pylons, they didn't have a properly documented work order and the inspector and job supervisor I was working with was not on site. Not very professional to not know where to drill since they were drilling holes inside into the floor of my house. The peace of mind for me was worth the cost but it was clear from the attention my job got it was rare. The crew attempted to clean up after themselves but I found splattered concrete here and there on the walls over the coming weeks. I would absolutely hire them again since I know I don't have to worry about my foundation anymore and the quality of work was great but would warn anyone else to keep a close eye on the job and keep handy the cell phone number of the supervisor that should be on the job since they won't be on site the whole time.
