Write a ReviewWe had a great experience. The whole team we had was great!!! Burt, bill and Belinda was on top it all the way. Was super impressed with the crews, hardworking and quick, we were swimming in 62 days start to finish!!! Our pool turned out way more beautiful than we expected.
Brian Reaves is my service technician and does an excellent job each week keeping my pool clean and chemically balanced. Brian is very personable and conscientious and takes great pride in his work.
Professional, responsive, and gave us the pool weâ ve always wanted -Joey Perez assisted us in the process - we couldnâ t have asked for a better experience from start to finish.
My project manager Julian Biggs was really great. Always available to me and explaining what was going on!! Project on time the only problem was waiting on City of Baytown!!! Great job on everyone involved
We received great service. Very satisfied
The entire process was horrible and still have ongoing issues with them not honoring the warranty.
[*** Link removed ***] Terrible company. Do not hire them!!!!
I truly hope no one use this truly horrible pool company. Our pool journey began in Mid June 2021and on May 8, 2022 we are halfway done with this terrible experience. We started with our pool designer who seem to be pretty good. We are first time pool builders and it was my wife’s dream to have a pool. We received quotes from three different companies went with Anthony at Sylvan because they seem the most honest. We were wrong. The lack of communication with this company is unbelievable. If you want any information on what is going on you must call the front office and talk to the secretary.. She is the only one you will speak to, getting in touch with anyone who can answer a question is impossible. We got our sketch of our pool and sign our contract. All of our questions were asked through email so we have a meticulous paper trail. Glad we did because the lying and changing prices started. It even went as far as our sales person forged a $3000 change order. AND HE ADMITTED IT!! These guys could not do something as simple as calling to get the utilities laid out properly. I, the homeowner, finally had to call and get the lines laid out correctly. Once they started prepping to dig (In February 2022) the 2nd half of the nightmare began. Slow is not even the word. We have had 13 rain days in 2022 in my area so I cannot comprehend this pace. They assured us before the start that everything we need for the pool is in stock. Again, they cannot communicate the delay. Only change we have made is tile and coping color sand all was in stock. We checked beforehand. We are sure there will be many, many , many more problems with Anthony & Sylvan. We just wanted to share the 1st year of our pool build so you wont make the mistake of using this company. Pay more at a better company and get the type of service you deserve when spending hundreds of thousands of dollars. Buyer beware, you have been warned.
My original review in 5/2021 I chose to go with Anthony & Sylvan pools because they have a long history and I knew people that had very old pools built by them. I wanted a name I could trust and I like Rick theirs salesman and he emphasized that history and their great warranty. They designed and built a great pool with only a hiccup here or there and we absolutely love our pool. The problems began pretty quickly when the concrete decking began cracking within weeks, and the manual fill line never worked. I called my project manager Randy and he promised me the fill line would get taken care of and he had his boss Joe come out who promised me the concrete would get taken care of. Shortly after than the plaster and some coping began cracking as the pool shifted. I had them back out to look at it and they did a leak test, told me it wasn't leaking and they'd fix the plaster and coping. Well the cracks kept coming and in under 2 years we have 7 medium to large cracks. The company has not fixed the cracking of the decking, the manual fill line that has never worked or been repaired, and not a single crack has been repaired in the plaster. To their credit, we had a leaky pipe come up in the middle of all this and they fixed that. Since that repair they have not followed through on a single thing they promised to fix. On top of that the communication is terrible. The only way to get a hold of John who is the warranty manager is by email, and he never answers back. So, I love my pool! I love how it looks. The initial product seemed great. If you have problems and need repairs, or they mess up and you need things fixed, you are out of luck. Once they get your final payment, the customer service disappears. It is really sad. They build beautiful pools, but their customer care on the back end is horrible! Because of that I can not recommend them whatsoever! FOLLOW UP Finally after 3 years of hounding Anthony & Sylvan to repair the things they had said within a month after the pool was finished would be repaired, and threatening to sue them, they engaged and began making the repairs slowly. They came out to repair my concrete decking which cracked almost immediately after it was originally installed and to finally fix our manual fill line that had never worked. When they broke through the concrete to find the leak in the manual fill line, what they they found was 4 feet of the pipe was missing. It wasn't even connected. So, they fixed that finally and we are happy to have a working manual fill line after three years. While fixing the manual fill line they also repaired the pipe that they had put in connecting it to the water faucet on the back of my house. Once again I was glad to have a working manual fill line. UNFORTUNATELY just over a month later I noticed a glistening wet streak running down the edge of my concrete slab of my house where they had replaced the pipe connecting to my faucet. I examined it closely and decided to check on the inside wall, and to my dismay my dinning room wall was wet. Since that time I have had to have water remediation and mold remediation. My dining room has looked like a scene from ET with the plastic sheeting up, the air scrubbers running and dehumidifiers going. The wall has been torn out, the floor is being torn out and I informed ANTHONY & SYLVAN of the problem caused by their repair work. The response I got was, you should contact your home owners insurance. I told them I expect them to pay for the damage they caused. They can file it with their insurance. Seems fair enough...but all I keep getting is, no we are not taking responsibility for the damage we caused...
It was a terrible, horrible experience. Nothing but stress and frustration. Do not believe the reviews. I don’t know how in the heck this company got 4.7 stars out of 5. Every aspect of the process has been riddled with mistakes, errors, and pathetic customer service. My pool was not built 100% to NEC code nor the uniform plumbing code. If i had not pointed out the mistakes and code violations Anthony Sylvan would have said the job was complete and walked away. Anthony Sylvan seems to be convinced that because they passed the code inspections they built the pool to code. Total muddying of the truth. I agree with them 1000% the pool pass inspections, however that does not mean it was built to code. Anthony Sylvan cannot get that through their thick skulls the difference in these two statements. If Randy Doss or Joe DeAlba are involved in the construction process of your pool you might as well start smashing your hand with a hammer, it will be less painful, I promise. I was told by an A&S VP that Randy Doss was the number one project manager. If he’s number one I can only imagine what kind of job the other project managers do. Anthony Sylvan has many 1 star and 5 star ratings but very few in between. Either they do a good job (or write their own reviews ) or they completely **** you off like they did me in my case. If you decide to use them it’s a crapshoot. You either get a one star or five star job. It’s not worth the risk on a $60,000 minimum investment.
