Scheduled appointment for the afternoon, between 2 and 5 pm. I received a call from the office around 4:15 saying the two guys were running late because of traffic - they were coming up from D.C.  I then got a call from one of the guys, Aaron, saying they were on their way and would be here within an hour. Well, an hour or so later, no one showed. I called the office but they were closed. Then around 7 pm, the two gentlemen, Aaron and Ivan, arrived.  I have to say I was surprised they made it. I honestly expected them to call and tell me they couldn't make it. They got to work right away. The furnace and access panel were cleaned. Both really needed it. All the vents were cleaned. I really have noticed the change. I have sinus problems and used a humidifier at night, but since the cleaning, I haven't had to use it.  The heating system now is working perfectly.
They gave me a great price for the dryer vent and chimney. Both of those prices were definitely less expensive and he said because they were already here. The phone service definitely answers quickly but the person didn’t necessarily seem prepared to answer my questions. The guy who came out called me back but they got it done the next day. It took longer to get a response. When they came, I know it would probably cost more like if they would put a camera and all that stuff. I assumed that they would have the same capability in finding a blockage. When he came, the dryer vent was definitely a problem. It was separated. It wasn’t doing what it’s supposed to do. I thought they had done a good job but I had to have peers come in and work on it. There were two problems with that dryer. Cleaning the vent was part of having the dryer work better. He was testing the vent and said that there was something blocking. That vent was still not functioning properly. He said I should call them back and I paid that thing to be fixed. That’s the problem. They told me it was difficult because of the way the vent was situated in my house and the way my deck is like right there. They did tell me it was difficult but he didn’t leave and tell me that he couldn’t do it. He didn’t leave a thing because of the structure. It’s not as clear as we wanted it to be. I got the impression that he finished it. I went online to see them on Angie’s List and they were suspended because of the licensing. They didn’t verify their license, which concerned me greatly.
They did a good job installing the UV system on HVAC system ductwork. However, I declined the package deal for whole-house vent cleaning when one of the technicians didn't know what a "watt" was when I asked him the energy use of the UV bulb. But, they did perform vent outlet cleaning, which could be done with little technical acumen. They were friendly and did a good job, but I would hesitate to use them for bigger / more technical jobs.
