We were thrilled when we ran across Sun Electric. From the minute we contacted them, we knew we were dealing with professional, friendly people. We needed some tricky work done in our house - because of the roof structure, etc.  We also know that we are self-admitted very picky people. That being said, we was so thrilled with the team of Chris & Tom. They were friendly, knowledgeable, professional, prompt, and did a fantastic job. I would recommend them without hesitation. Sun Electric is outstanding and both Chris and Tom are great representatives for this company. Bravo! UPDATE:  I purchased a new chandelier for our home yesterday.  I called the wonderful Jennifer at the home office to hire Sun Electric for my latest job.  They'll be here on Tuesday and I am so excited.

We sought a number of quotes before accepting Reliable Power.  From the very first, we were impressed with their professionalism, thoroughness and number of options presented.  For our installation, we needed the whole house generator, transfer switches, buried LP tank and initial fill of gas.  They handled all the plans and permits for us.  I was most impressed with the staff sent to do the installation.  They were focused and worked hard all day to ensure they could meet deadlines for the inspectors and power company.  The entire installation was neat, professional, and without stress.  I would recommend their services without any reservation.

The decision to replace our existing unit was made based on improvements to current air cooled generators not available when the Generac was purchased, specifically increased output capacity and load management controls.  These improvements seemed to offer managed whole house capability at less cost than larger water cooled generators, a significant improvement over the 12 circuits available with the existing Generac standby unit. After researching current air cooled standby generators my wife and I decided on the Kohler, I felt hydraulic lifters were a nice feature that would eliminate valve adjustment maintenance and was also impressed with Kohler?s warranty of 5 years compared to 3 for the Generac. After some initial delays due in part to local building regulations and aggravated by poor communication by Reliable, installation of the new Kohler went smoothly; I was surprised that final inspection of the installation by Palm Beach County building department was approved before it had even been started for the first time but otherwise felt good about workmanship of the installation.  My concern began on the day Reliable returned to perform the initial startup following final inspection by the building department.  At that time I observed the technician attempting to install a battery that clearly did not fit the compartment.  The battery was too large and was therefore sitting above the designed recess, this would seem to block cooling airflow, in addition the electrical terminals were located extremely close to the extruded metal intake screen immediately behind the battery compartment.  While I am not a Kohler certified technician over 30 years of experience in the automobile business told me this was a disaster waiting to happen, when I questioned the technician concerning the battery he said this is the same one they install in all such units.  Without checking the oil level in the engine the Reliable technician then demonstrated the autostart sequence using the transfer switch, followed by output voltage tests.  When these tests were complete he explained and demonstrated the shutdown sequence I should expect once power had been restored, he then checked the oil level of the engine, and thank God it was correct.       I questioned the technician concerning output tests under load and was told it was not necessary since load calculations were performed by Rob Bicardi owner of Reliable before installation.  When the technician asked for the final payment for the job I indicated I would give them a check when they returned with the correct battery for this model as specified by Kohler.  After discussion with the office by phone I was told they would have to remove the battery just installed unless I gave them the final payment immediately, they would then return when they secured the correct battery.  My comfort level was diminishing rapidly at that point so I said they should remove the battery and return with the correct size and amperage rating and that I would make final payment when they did so. At 4:00 PM on that day, Friday June 9th 2012 a different technician returned with the correct battery, he installed it and set the exercise cycle to run every Saturday at 3:00PM per my request, I gave him a check for the final installment of the contract after he completed the installation. At about 6:00 PM on the same evening our power went out, the new generator started and took over as designed, providing power for about 30 minutes until power was restored. I was feeling better about the project in spite of the battery snafu.  The next day I listened for the exercise cycle to run and it operated as expected running for 20 minutes starting at 3:00 PM.  The following week on Tuesday June 12th I manually tripped the transfer switch attempting to verify the generator would operate both air conditioning units and other essential loads as promised by Reliable since hurricane season had begun.  The generator did not start, after some investigation I discovered the 110 volt circuit breaker used to operate the battery charger was shut off and the starting battery was dead, no LED?s were illuminated on the control panel. I called Reliable and a tech told me he must have left the breaker off by mistake when installing the battery, he said if I turned it back on the battery would charge and everything would function normally once it recharged.  I reset the breaker, when I checked the next day the red LED was flashing on the control panel showing a fault for low L1-L2 voltage shutdown, I assumed this was due to the low battery issue just described, I cleared the fault as instructed in the operation manual and again tripped the transfer switch, the generator started and operated all loads tried during my tests lasting about one half hour,  I felt good thinking the last glitch was overcome and I could relax believing  the new machine would provide power when needed, my positive feeling was reinforced when the exercise cycle ran normally the following Saturday, June 16th. On Saturday June 23rd, I once again listened at 3:00PM for the exercise cycle to run; the generator cranked and started but ran very briefly, less than one minute before shutting off. Inspection of the control panel revealed a flashing LED and the L1-L2 low voltage shutdown code in memory.  After reading the description of the code I was confused, it seems to indicate it should only occur if voltage output is low when loaded and there is no load applied during the exercise cycle to my knowledge.  I double checked the circuit breaker for the battery charger it was not tripped, I then removed the end cover of the generator and verified the battery cables were tight, I also checked for voltage across the battery terminals with a DVOM, the meter indicated 14.3 volts telling me the charger was functioning.  I called Reliable Monday morning June 25th around 9:00 and was told they would call me back after contacting their technicians; they called back around 10:30 saying someone would be out between 2 and 4 PM.  At 4:15 the same two technicians who installed the generator arrived after working all day on other installations.  They asked for my owner?s manual to help determine the cause of the fault code which I found unusual, as an authorized servicing dealer I would expect them to have more in depth diagnostic information.  The technician also asked me to describe what had happened so I repeated what occurred on Saturday, he said the generator run log confirmed what I described, but he was double checking because some owners cause problems by overloading the generator then telling the technician a different version.  After some testing the techs indicated they could find no cause and theorized my natural gas supplier had shut off the supply briefly causing the problem, I told them that was not possible since I have a gas light that burns 24/7 and it was still burning and I had not had to relight it. Reliable techs attempted to contact a Kohler representative without success at that point and after about one hour said they could find no problem, they said they would contact me the following day after speaking with a <br /

    Response from Company:

Thank you for providing a response regarding the installation of your generator. We understand your frustration regarding the manufacturer issues that you have experienced. Unfortunately, because of the way Kohler handles the repairs of their systems through dealers like ourselves, it is very difficult for us to respond in the way we normally would. Kohler has since improved the way they provide tech support to us, but is still a work in progress. These are very reliable machines and rarely have these types of manufacturer issues. I am very happy that TAW was able to finally fix the programing issues. We have already waived the outstanding balance that was on your account to help compensate for the problem that you experienced.

Owner visited the property, prepared an estimate in day or two, answered any questions. We signed an agreement and the company proceeded to secure permits and HOA approval. Installed the generator as scheduled. The work was done in a high quality manner and the equipment works as expected.

    Response from Company:

Thank you very much for the kind words you have shared. We appreciate your business and it was a pleasure working with you. Please contact us if we can be of any further assistance to you.
