Reviews
Write a ReviewWe called at the end of June 2010 and a salesman name Greg came out within a few days. He was very knowledgeable about the products offered. He gave us great advice on deciding what windows would look the best compared to what we had along with how to save money. We ended up going with a big picture window in the front of the house that had three separate windows before. The bay window was done with a picture window in the middle and two side double hung windows on the sides for ventilation. These both look great. We also used double hung windows in the kitchen and utility room which look better than the sliders that were there before and cost less. I had an idea that the cost would be around $5,000 for what we wanted to do. I think the price was worth it based upon the results of the project. The work crew that did the installation was very professional and cleaned up afterwards. We are very happy with how good the windows and patio door look. You can tell a difference in sounds from outside being muted and the house is definitly cooler. Our old windows were aluminum and probably the originals from when the house was built in the early sixties.
I would recommend them to anyone. They were very quick, efficient and they didn?t make a big mess. I thought that their price was good compared to others that I priced. I have had no problems with the windows.
The experience went well, and the windows were good. Their clean up was not as good as I would have liked though. I had to go up to the second floor and clean out the gutters because they left window trash in them. Their prices were also competitive, but the quality of the overall job was decent.
I thought they were excellent, but the windows would not have been good for the house. The salesman was really good, and they were respectful. They were not pushy at all and were really understanding. He really knew what he was talking about.
They charged me $2600. I didn?t have any problems with them. One of the panes was cracked and they came out to fix that. Their service was fine. I will use them again in the future.
They were always very prompt and they showed up at the exact time they said they would come. They finished within a reasonable amount of time and they cleaned up beautifully.
Excellent job!
Salesman from 5 companies came by my house to make their sales pitch. Only two would actually provide bids because I had oversize windows. The 6000 series from Window World were as good as my other option but about half the cost which was important because our time in this house is 2 to 6 years so we just needed windows that would help us sell the house because the old ones were so bad. Installation was a joke. The windows were mismeasured even though the installer himself had measured them prior to ordering. I went around taking pictures of the windows as they installed them and did not say a word until they finished. They have agreed to replace the one window that is so small that it is obvious from the sidewalk. I could make a bigger fuss--but I do not have the time or energy. It makes me think I might have been better off getting a separate crew to install the windows and just buy them from windowworld. But then again, it would have been luck of the draw if that crew would have been any better than the one I had with windowworld. UPDATE: It has been about ten months since I had the windows installed by windowworld. Our electricity usage have decreased substantially compare to prior years (-25% to as high as -50% some months). The problem is that we were doing additional renovation around this time to include enhanced attic ventilation so it is hard to tell how much of it is the windows. I will say that the windowworld 6000 series windows themselves do seem to be high quality for the price. We have Jeldwen windows in our kitchen from a previous renovation and the windowworlds are better. As far as an update for the installation, Windowworld did come back out and replace the one window that was grossly mis-measured (for free). To their credit they also completed a couple of unrelated tasks for me as well for a reasonable price. On the other hand, one thing that I did not mention in my previous review is that I was not happy as I was walking around and found a couple of spots where they were installing trim without insulating sufficiently around the window. Makes me wonder how much better my electricity bills could be... As a sidenote, if you are replacing "replacement" windows (aka not the originals), you might be taking a bit of a risk. It is hard for the measurer to determine what exactly is behind the trim of replacement windows and how much of that the trim covers. In the end, you might be better off removing the old windows to allow measurement and assess how you want to proceed. But this will involve boarding off the openings while you get new windows which may or may not be acceptable to you. After going through several renovation projects over the last couple of years, I am convinced that as a consumer the most important thing is to educate oneself on the work you need done. No matter how glowing somebody's review is on Angielist, if they can tell you do not know anything about what you need them to do they will still take advantage of you (and you will not know).
They responded promptly to our call for an estimate. The sales call was very thorough & we were provided with a quote on the spot. They also esponded very quickly when we modified our requirements. They provided a very attractive price for a product that was as good or better that that quoted by the other bidders. The windows were ready right on time & the installers were clean, courteous, on time, very hard workers, & did a good job. We are very pleased with Window World.
They did a great job. I would highly recommend them. The salesman was great. We ordered the windows and they came in early. Excellent work overall, cleaned up well, and everything worked out to perfection.
