Foundation Repair Jan 15 - 16, 2019 Issues 1 - False Time to Complete Job: The salesman told me it was only 1 day; however, no one told Alex (Site Manager) nor Juan (local manager). Alex indicated that jobs with both interior and exterior piers require 2 days. 3 - Lack of Wooden Floor Protection: Wednesday morning, Man with a mustache, used extremely thin plastic sheeting to shrink wrap furniture/walls in master bedroom. The wooden floors were also covered with the same thin plastic sheeting, which was completely torn away after 3 men walked across it, in about 5 seconds. By the end of Wednesday, the floors in the master bedroom, hallway, and living room were completely covered in a thick layer of dried mud. Tried to clean by pouring water onto wood floors and using an extremely stiff bristle brush/mop, which created deep scratches across the floors Alex should have brought heavy rubber mats/runners to adequately protect wooden floors. The wooden floors are ruined, which is gross negligence on your part. 4 - Pier Elevation Changed from 2-3 to 1.5 inches Juan said that using a 3-inch elevation would badly damage bricks. Additionally, he didn't understand the concept of half-inch incremental elevations. Instead, Juan was in the master bedroom with a meter, calling out numbers to 2 men outside who raised only 2 piers at a time and then moved to next pair of 2 piers. In the bedroom, there is still a large gap between the walls and floor. The separation between 2 bedroom walls has closed at the top but not bottom. Some new crackers have appeared or worsened. That is to be expected. Has the water leak into the master bedroom problem actually been corrected? 5 - Sprinkler System Badly Damaged GL Hunt did pay for sprinkler repair. NOTE: Neither All-Pro nor RamJack caused any sprinkler damage. 6 - Final Cleanup * The highboy in my bedroom was left jammed between bed and curio cabinet such that bottom drawers would not open. * In back yard 12-inch square cement paving stone with gravel on top, which was next to the faucet, was covered over in the mud. Alex did locate and clean off paving stone. Thanks. * The red paving stones on the east side of the house were in a uniform checkerboard pattern. Half were just tossed onto the grass; some are broken. Even though I specifically asked Alex to re-arrange them properly, he just walked off - again poor customer service. Would not recommend.

GL Hunt was an excellent company to work with. Our foreman for the job, Alex, and his team were extremly professional and took a lot of pride in there work. Will defintly work with them again on other jobs.

They did a good job. Probably just ticked that I wound up with a Plumbing bill that cost as much as the leveling if not more.

I hired this company to do adjustments to existing piers the previous owners had had installed, per the advisement of a structural engineer we hired to inspect our property. We also needed significant drainage help due to water backing up into our house and flooding our master bedroom when the heavier storms blew through. We had french drains and 7 catch basins installed to remedy the water issues, and they adjusted 4 piers and installed 3 new ones. They were not the cheapest estimate we received, but Chris sat with me and explained every detail of the scope of work, and made sure I understood everything it entailed. I would have hired them based on customer service alone, but I ultimately chose this company because they were the only company that even offered a warranty takeover on the existing piers they adjusted. The only reason I docked half a star was because on the second day, the crew was working until it was very dark outside, by flashlight, and it seemed they were just in a hurry to get home for the evening (frankly, I don't blame them!) As a result, the catch basins were covered up and another part was not sufficiently graded to allow for optimal drainage, so it pooled in one area. Once the company was notified of the issue, they sent a crew back out to remedy the issue and we haven't had an issue since! Overall, I am very satisfied and have already recommended them to two other friends. Thanks so much, G.L. Hunt!
