Write a ReviewGarth provided an estimate for 4 furnace options after touring the house. He described each option with the pros and cons (cost, quality, reputation of brands, different efficiencies, etc.). It was easy to schedule the installation and they arrived promptly and installed the furnace in one day. I did have to ask them to re-route a tube to drain outside of the house from the non-functioning sink in the basement. When the city inspector arrived, he found a few minor items. Roth returned promptly and fixed those items without charging anything extra. The next city inspector approved the installation.
They charged about $60 to come out to diagnose the problem. They then charged about $1,000 for the repairs. They responded immediately to my phone call. They came when they said they would. They wrote down the description of work they performed. We have had them come out every year since that initial visit to make sure everything is functioning properly. Each time they come, they are very friendly and courteous. I will continue to use their services and I have even recommended them to others.
My air conditioning stopped working on a Saturday. Under the "Planned Service" I have with this company they will come out on a Saturday and perform the service at the price of a weekday. The A/C unit needed 2 fuses. The service tech did not have any 40 amp fuses in his truck and was required to return to shop in Canby to get the fuses. The bill does not breakout labor and parts. The bill shows: REPLACE FUSES $190 SUPER BOOSTER $107 TOTAL $297 Less 20% $ 59.40 NEW TOTAL $237.60 Gas Surcharge $5.00 TOTAL BILL $242.60 After reviewing the bill I called the office on Monday June 30th to better understand the charges prior to invoicing my credit card. I never received a call back so I called a second time on July 3rd. Talked to the Manager who was very defensive and not pleasant to talk with! He advised that there was 2 hours labor involved. Actually the repair man was here no more than 20 minutes, so presume I was paying for the return trip to the shop to get the needed fuses. After an uncomfortable conversation he indicated that he would reduce the bill by 15% to a total of $206.21. So the call helped but it was not a satisfactory experience and I will no longer utilize the services of Canby Heating!! I am 82 years old and the way they bill is very confusing and difficult to understand!
Our house is undergoing a complete remodel leaving all areas of the house accessible, so we had a lot of options available but it was also a little overwhelming to decide what to do. Brent (the sales rep) came out to our house three times over three months to discuss our options before we selected Roth to do the work. He really helped us understand all of our options and what the benefits and costs of each option would be. He never pressured us to make a decision one way or another, as was patient as we worked through the questions and made up our mind about the work. Once they came out to get started we walked through our options again with Matt and Travis (the installation leads), and Tim (the site installer). We changed some of original thinking once we pooled all of our ideas and came up with some good solutions on how to get supply and return throughout the house with a minimal amount of impact to the rooms. Working in an old house like ours presents unique problems. Not only were we impressed with their willingness to problem solve we really enjoyed volleying ideas and their interest in finding the best solutions. During the installation they were considerate of the future work we had to do, kept the work area clean every day, and had minimal impact on the rest of the house. You'd expect professionals to be trustworthy, efficient, and knowledgeable. The folks we worked with met all of these qualifications and more.
The salesman presented several options, comparable features and cost. The installers arrived on the appointed day and effectively removed and installed the new equipment. Everyone we worked with was very polite. As the furnace qualified us for several tax credits, the office personnel prepared all the paper work and even called to remind us to submit it before the deadlines. I also used Roth for repair work on my old furnace and was so happy with their performance it was a no brainer when the time came to deciding who I wanted to get a new HVAC system from.
I called the company, scheduled a time that worked for me. The technician was on time, courteous, tidy, and very helpful. He explained things about my furnace, advised me on maintenance, and sold me a scheduled maintenance package. My furnace worked very well, and then I began to hear a strange noise. When the noise got worse, I called, and the Roth people were out the next day to investigate. It turned out that a piece of paper from the original installation of the furnace 10 years ago had come loose and was caught in the machinery. The identified that problem, retrieved the long-lost piece of paper, put the cover back on the furnace, and didn't charge me anything. I was very pleased. I'm glad I called them, because a stray piece of paper inside a gas furnace is really dangerous! The company has my undying loyalty.
Roth Heating has been doing our yearly maintenance on our heating and cooling system for years, our last furnace was still working great after 33 years. We recently moved to another house where one of our winter electric bills was $350. When the technician from Roth s came out a few months later I told him I think we needed a new thermostat although I had just bought a new one when we moved into the house. He checked the unit and found that our son had installed it as a gas instead of an electric furnace. He changed settings and our bills went down considerably and have had much better heat delivery.
Called Roth and described work to a very friendly and helpful woman, that scheduled the work for the following day. Service tech showed up on time and had the problem fixed, in a short amount of time.
Excellent work. Technician was prompt, friendly, and professional. I will definitely use them again. Technician was there for approximately 6 hours over two days, so the pro-rated cost is acceptable.
It went very well. Everyone from the salesman to the receptionist and technicians was responsive, friendly and easy to work with. The technicians talked us through what they were doing and left the basement cleaner than when they found it!
