Reviews
Write a ReviewSometime in early December we decided to replace our 20 year old furnace and water heater. We were motivated by the expiring energy tax credits. This meant we had to hire a company quickly. I got three bids for the job, but was most impressed by Roth. Since they have their own inhouse sheet metal shop and electrician, they are able to take care of all aspects of the job without any subcontractors. The estimator Jason was very professional. They had a guy come out and take very exact measurements of the existing furnace so that the new components would fit properly. In addition to replacing the existing furnace and water heater, we added a commercial grade gas "unit" heater that hangs from the ceiling in the garage. (Though much more expensive than an electric heater, it is far more efficient and less costly to operate.) The unit heater required a new gas line and they installed this in such a way that it is mostly hidden from view. The installations all went smoothly, and I was impressed by how well everything fits and looks very tidy. They also managed to increase the size of the air flow from the cold air return by 25%. They used a single vent through the roof for the gas furnace, so we don't have what looks like a periscope that I've seen on some houses. Altogether there were 6 or 7 different tradesmen who worked on the project, and all were friendly and did a quality job.
They did a great job. I am very pleased with the work.
Things turned out very well.
It has been very satisfactory. They are very professional and their work is excellent. They are very responsive and come right away if there is anything wrong. We haven’t had them for anything major, but mainly for keeping our heating and cooling in working order. They sometimes come out and check the filters and things like that and they are just very helpful.
They are always pretty prompt and they seem to do a good job with the work. Since I have a service contract with them they put us on a top priority list. I like that I know I can rely on them to be there if something happens and I need their help. I have no checked around for the price, however I have been pleased.
They were very professional front the salesman to the manager and the crew of two that did the installation. They were all (office peopele, salesman, manager AND crew) very helpful and responsive. They answered all my questions and made recommendations on location of the unit and more. Their office took care of printing all the tax rebate paperwork and providing instructions on what to send to whom and when.
Excellent
The salesman, Brent, was punctual and gave us an estimate for one brand of air handler during his visit. No waiting for a followup. We decided to go with a different brand and he emailed us a revised estimate. Overall, he answered inquiries promptly and was patient, though I did feel he didn't fully answer questions as thoroughly as I would have like and I had to send followup questions so all would be clear. The installers arrived on time. The glitch was that we had to hire an outside electrician to bring us up to code and the wiring was more involved than expected (which increased the price of the entire job, not included in the $2600 noted above). This, combined with the problem that they had difficulty wiring the air handler to the heat pump, caused the installers to end up working until late. They had to send another technician to come finish the wiring several days later. We also received a gasoline rebate as part of the deal. I had to call the office a few times to make sure it would be sent. The information did arrive several weeks after the job was completed.
It went very well. The communications were great, they were punctual and got the job done ahead of schedule. They were very conscious of the inconvenience and tried to work around my schedule and keep the mess to a minimum. If something didn't seem right they worked on it until it was done correctly. They also helped me in coordinating the work with the gas company so we were without heat for a very short time...less than 24 hours.
It was a pleasant experience.
