Had my usual gate guy come out after our gate mysteriously stopped opening and closing. He messed inside the controller box and got the gate to work. But this guy goes on to say that it's time to install a totally new system. To the tune of $2000! I don't know jack about gates and controllers, so I wondered was this system really ready to totally go? He's always been quick to come out, and didn't even charge me this time, but no explanation to why I need to replace everything. I have a midtown house that always is in need of something fixed. Why would I replace a system that still works, and is built to last? That's when I called Precision. They sent James and Nate out the next morning. They went over the entire system, explained what worked and what didn't. We have an older system (25 years!) that includes 3 loops. Turns out it was just one of the loop switches that was bad and it was preventing the gate controller from opening or closing. The usual guy had unplugged the switch controller and everything was working except the very redundant shadow safety loop. No biggy, don't use that "feature" anyway. They adjusted the gate closing timer and the hydraulic gate arm, and showed me how to reprogram the keypad and gate remotes. They explained they can get replacement parts for any part of the installed system and/or upgrade as needed. For much less than $2000. THANK YOU PRECISION!!!
