The so-called up-front pricing was the $89 price for them to come to my house to tell me the actual amount they would charge to replace a standard garbage disposal and faucet with a new standard disposal and faucet which I supplied. If I chose not to accept their price I would have to pay $89 for nothing. This was not a case of needing repair so I saw no reason they would need to look at my sink in order to give an estimate, but Heritage was the only company to reply so I agreed to pay this fee, with the understanding that the fee would be deducted from the total charge; however, I was assuming the cost of the job would be reasonable. I made the time to be at home during the estimated window, but was not happy when the plumber arrived and after running some calculations told me the charge would be $620. I wanted the task done soon without having to call around, and I had already taken time off from work, so I did ask him to complete the job. The plumber Performed the tasks well - I have no complaints about that. It took him less than an hour. I think that $620/hour is excessive. Heritage charges far too much for their services.
