I pulled in my garage and when I closed the door, the spring broke and the lift cables fell off. I ran to the computer to look for a garage door company on Angie's List. I found Precision and called them right away. This happened at 10:30 am and they said they could be here by 4:30! I was very happy. Then they called around 2 pm and said they could come now if I'd like. I was very impressed! When Rick, the Sr. Service Technician arrived I showed him the door, asked what was wrong, and handed him all the coupons I had to see if any were applicable to the problem. The best coupon I had was $25 off. He could have just taken that and been done with it but instead, he told me that they had a special price: buy 1 spring get the other half off! That came to a $72 savings! I was so grateful! Because I got the 2nd spring for 1/2 off, I asked the cost of a keyless entrypad. It was $74 including installation which was only $2 more than what I already saved with the discount he gave me on the 2nd spring. I had him install it. He fixed my garage, installed the keypad, and lubricated all parts. The door ran SOOO smoothly and was much quieter than it had ever been. I would definitely use this company again because 1) even though I was a first time customer, they came out to fix my broken garage door right away, 2) he told me about a special deal instead of just taking my $25 off coupon which saved me $72 3) my garage door runs better than it ever has before!Â

My garage door opened very noisily, so when I saw the deal of the day, I purchased the $99 coupon which included a tune-up and 4 new nylon rollers. When the technician inspected my unit, he noticed the overhead chain dangling and showed me where the motor was wearing out and causing the chain to loosen  up ... that was causing the noise also. He replaced the motor, tuned up the unit, and replaced the bottom two and top two rollers. The technician was very nice, and besides the $99 coupon, I received additional discounts for the additional work of replacing the motor ... 5% senior citizen discount and 10% with an Angie's List coupon: $99 + $138 - $20.70 = $216.30

The repairman was on time. He was very professional, explained all the details of the probllem to a novice like me- garage door torsion spring was broken and door could not be opened. The garage initially had only one spring instead of two. He replaced the broken spring and added another one, replaced the center bearing plate and the rollers.

Our old door was original to the house (35 years old), and had been slowly falling apart. I had limped the door along as long as I could, and when a spring broke, we decided to put the cost of spring replacement towards a new door.  Precision sent someone the next day and he was very helpful. My wife and I decided to get a little bit nicer door, and found out that it would be 2 weeks before the door would be available.  I called other installers they all said the same thing, so if you want something other than the standard door in a couple colors, be prepared for that. Precision wasn?t the cheapest price we received, but they had a 10% off coupon for Angie?s List members and that put them in the range of everyone else. The door was available when they said (actually a day early), the installer arrived on time, and he did a great job.  He even found that one of the hinges that the manufacturer had included was bent so he met up with another installer and got a replacement. He took the time to do it right the first time, and I appreciate that. The door looks great, and is much quieter than our old one.

I purchased the "Big Deal" as a tune-up not a repair. I felt that the "Big Deal" was only  a way to upsell me on additional work.  Tune-Up? No, I was told I need springs and that is would cost me $400+ for me to have a garage door that performs properly.  I did not like when the service tech told me that when he was at my house the last time he told me I needed springs and that is what he recommended then and now.  Again, I just wanted a special tune-up for my garage door ... to make minor adjustments to lengthen the life of the garage door.  Instead, I feel that I got the rollers greased and anything else would be a symptom of the springs.  My garage door is working and is noisier that I like but opens and closes. Do not doubt the need of springs, did not purchase the deal for upgrades. just a simple service to tune-up my existing door.  Will be more skeptical with more Angie's List Big Deals
