It was a pleasure doing business with Empire.

Hired Empire to put down a hardwood laminate in my kitchen/dining area. Salesman saw condition of my floor was poor as we are on a concrete slab foundation and there were many pockets of concrete that came up when taking out existing glued-down hardwood. Empire said they would level the floor and then put down a "floating" laminate. It was to take ONE day. Two workers came out and were visibly irritated with the look (amount of work) my floor was going to incur. They said " We'll need to get cement from Home Depot, be back in an hour" THREE hours later they came back with a few bags of cement and mixed the cement in buckets on my flowers on my front walkway!! They patched the floor, never leveled it and said they would need to let concrete dry overnight and be back in the AM. Second day- did not level - put down 90% of floor and RAN OUT of material. Third day, installed rest of floor and transition pieces. One long transition piece does not line-up and they NEVER installed the bull-nose transition pieces on the stair leading from my kitchen to my mud room. I contacted Empire via email and snail-mail with pictures of my quality of work. The floor has pockets of air and goes from feeling solid to buckling up in spots. They sent a manager from the installation department and he came out and looked at the floor and agreed it has "issues". Empire did offer to pull up the floor and re-install it after leveling it correctly. After not having my kitchen for 7 weeks, I did not want the mess all over again. Empire has told me they will send someone out to finish the transition pieces. They are scheduled to come out on Monday. All in all, terribly disappointed with floor. It's all about the installers. Hope you get workers who are not only courteous and careful with your home, but are capable of doing the job correctly!!

I was not happy with the samples given but the sales rep and I chose what would be the best choice for my flooring. I had a shortage of Java Bamboo flooring. What I chose was imitation wood laminate flooring. The look is beautiful but the quality is not the same.... that was very important to me, especially when I was upgrading the entire house with quality fixtures throughout the home.

Empire made it easy. They moved everything to enable the installation and moved it back when it was completed.

The workers are knowledgeable, courtest and friendly. They took care not to damage anything and returned moved furnishings to their original location.

Excellent products that matched the original. Mechanics showed up on time and completed the project.

Shelley was on time and kept in touch from the initial appointment until the completion of the project. She said she could match the new hardwoods to the existing hardwoods in my home. She was the first of 4 companies interviewed that said she could match them.....and she did! I was very pleased with her crew because they were extremely efficient as well as proficient! They completed the job ahead of schedule and the job was fantastic. Thanks to Knot Just Floors for a superior level of professionalism. I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again in the future.
