Messed up my armoire really bad at the top, from moving it into the garage. I have to try to sand it and stain it. It has gouges in it and the white paint from the wall. Very disappointed. The first crew that came out threw all of the clothes in the closet into the bath tub and left them there, didn't hang them back up. But the WORST part about that is they were hanging together in the order in which they fit me. I have some bigger clothes, smaller ones, and ones that fit. There were at least 200 pair. Really Really Really Sloppy job.

First off, we didn't get far enough to rate "work quality", so I'm going middle of the road there. They fully earned the .5 stars on the other two. As info, we just needed our kitchen, half bath and laundry room (and the tiny connection hallway) reworked with vinyl, as we're preparing to sell our home. Empire readily scheduled a free estimate, and they were willing to do so on the weekend. The positives begin and end there. The estimate went OK; typical, lots of measuring, went through some samples, the normal upsell attempts, all fairly innocuous. The first red flag was the coupon - HomeAdvisor and Empire supposedly "team up" to provide value, so we received a coupon for $500 off service. When I inquired about the coupon, we were told "oh, this is already marked down as low as it can go." That's not really how a coupon is supposed to work, but we let it go. Empire gave us a window on a Tuesday morning - not a window for their arrival, a window in which they would call to THEN tell us their arrival time. So essentially they expect you to block off the entire day for the install, which I did. That was time off from work well spent. The installers were pleasant and seemed very professional. They arrived and immediately knew something was wrong; the work order was only for the kitchen area, not the additional areas. They measured and re-measured, but the consensus was that not only did the work order only supply them with enough material for the kitchen; they didn't even have enough material for the kitchen. The topper: the vinyl was the wrong pattern, they didn't have the correct product on the truck. So the estimate/quote got just about every single aspect of the job incorrect. The rest of the day entailed 4 separate phone calls, each of which were with a customer service rep that could only say I needed to speak with an install manager. I was assured that the ticket had been escalated with the utmost urgency, I would absolutely receive a call within two hours. That call never came. 6 hours of the business day remained when the error was discovered, but no one with any actual authority ever called to admit the mistake and attempt to rectify it. We were asked to reschedule, but even when I did earlier in the day, with each subsequent call the rescheduled appointment was never confirmed in their system. At 5:30pm I was informed that anyone with the ability to make a decision had gone home for the day. It was at this point that I cancelled the service. If you want to waste a significant amount of time and delay the sale of your home (or whatever other goal you may have) - go ahead and call Empire.
