Reviews
Write a ReviewAfter several days of heavy rain, we noticed a small amount of water in the basement near the pipe that goes out to the septic. Key had someone come take a look at it and quickly identified the problem. A few weeks later, the team should up and fixed the problem in about 3 hours. The works included - resealing around the pipe and installing a waterproof membrane on the water below it.
A lot of trust was eroded from the initial meeting with the workers who showed up based on miscommunication, Sondi was the apparent foreman for the initial excavation. Ed Camelio was the person who came out the first time and gave me a consultation and quote, he was personable but after he sells a job, he has no stake in the rest of the project or follows-through to completion. He takes your deposit and you will most likely never hear from him again. I had to call on a different phone line after many numerous attempts from the number he had on file, clearly avoiding my phone call until the job was done. I honestly believe they do not have a scheduling protocol and just take in jobs as they come in so it clearly shows the disorganization right there. The guys who come to work, work very hard and stay to get the job done ( I honestly believe they do not have a scheduling protocol and just take in jobs as they come in so it clearly shows the disorganization right there. The guys who come to work work very hard and stay to get the job done (albeit not to any specificity or detail, they show up and it is as though it is their first day on the job, if you ask for the written plan or diagram or sketch of the job, they nod and say no problem or look at you until you mime out that you are inquiring about the sketch, then they would go to the car to grab it showing clearly they are referencing nothing). I know this job is not that engineering heavy or requires an understanding of fluid dynamics but at the minimum you should know what you are going to do before you do it. I think they would benefit from an OSHA class, no eye protection or ear/hearing protection. The details do matter when this company is charging comparable prices as the other competitors in the local area. Communication is very challenging because you have to go through a relay to Wendell, the apparent proprietor of the business. They charge the same as the other basement solutions but they buy most of their things (aside from the sump pump itself) from home improvement stores depending on what is more convenient. They offer a lifetime warranty but if they mess it up, of course they are going to fix it. The disorganization and lack of understanding is crushing when they say they understand what you are saying but clearly they do not. I 100% support immigrants making a livelihood for themselves and doing so with a trade that is valued and would 100% pay them top dollar if they did top notch work. There is no quality control in any step of the process. The quality control process is only executed when something goes wrong. In the future, I would be more than happy to pay the extra money for actual professionals. I do not think I saw one tape measure, a level or even a pencil when these guys were doing calculations. They even did what kids do when they walk with their feet to measure a distance. The level of professionalism was low to say the least and the lack of command of the English language was even lower. There were numerous instances where they wanted to execute something but met with a No which is fortunate that it is universally understood. Ed Camelio will tell you to read his reviews, he definitely is not the owner because he does not take ownership when things go wrong. Do not fall for the employee-owned schtick and that they can compete on pricing because they have less overhead. I got quoted a difference of $500 for a similar job from another contractor and in retrospect would have paid that difference without hesitation for prompt customer service and clear communication. I hope they continue to improve their daily operation flow and continue to work hard for your business. I unequivocally do not recommend their services. I applaud these guys for the hard work that they do every day but would not recommend.
We are glad this customer says he supports immigrants. Why would anyone go out of their way to say that? The consultation and explanation of exactly what was to be done, and was done, is why the customer purchased. He watched and walked with the initial design tech while he measured and drew his entire basement and after this, he bought a system that works with naturally no word otherwise to this day. The crew foreman went over the design again at the office prior to the job and had it with him. Yes, he called 8 times the first morning of the job. He did not get through each time because we were busy with other customers but he was called back and spoken with several times by both his original design technician but also the head partner of the company. It is hard for a crew to concentrate when a customer that has not and could not ever do this job is following and questioning everything you have been doing for years. Our pictures show the crew did a great job, in spite of the dogged way this customer acted, and his basement no longer leaks.
Very good; very professional.
my experience was great with Wendell and company I will definetly use them again.
Stephen and Wendell were great. Very responsive, great work and more for the money than the competition. When I asked for fixes they came and did them no questions asked.
Very flexible and showed up when planned, work done quickly. Owner very helpful.
These guys are great. The workers, work hard and are very respectful. Came quickly.
Fast response time with scheduling and any questions and very thorough with the work they did.
I was incredibly impressed with their quick response to my query for help in home advisor. They called within minutes of my post! They came out that day and finished up the next day. Very nice, professional, prompt, follow through on their word. Great value for the work done. I had water pouring in my basement with every rain storm, last night it poured and my basement is 100% dry!! My only critique is the final aesthetic look was not quite what I envisioned, but I mean, who really cares? It is my basement and it is DRY!! I would 100% recommend Key Waterproofing Construction.
From our very first contact with Key Waterproofing, I got a good vibe and it just continued throughout the entire process. Stephen, Wendell, and the entire crew were professional, skilled, knowledgable, timely, and tidy. The price was very fair and the finished work was great. I would absolutely hire them again.
