A knowledgeable man, Richard Soto, came out and gave me an estimate. I have a Japanese Black Pine that is trimmed like a bonsai tree that is about 7 or 8 feet high. That was the only trimming job. I also had several heavenly bamboo plants, ranging from 2 to 7 feet high, in the front, side and back yards that were infested with bugs. He showed me the product he was going to order from Amazon. It was $89.99 per bottle, and said it would take 2 bottles. After tax, that is about $200. The price was $300 for trimming the bonsai tree and spraying the yard, $200 for material, $100 for labor. The price was reasonable and Richard was knowledgeable, so I said to go ahead. About a week later on Sept 21, I called the company to see if the product was in yet. The owner said he would send a -crew- right away. Two men came within an hour and chopped at the tree. They did not know how to do it right and did not have good equipment. One of them asked me if I had manual hedge trimmers as he was using an electric one. I do not think mine was sharp enough. Should not they have the proper equipment? The tree looks worse than it has ever looked. I had to tell them to put a tarp down. I called the company and told the person answering that they needed to send someone out to supervise the crew but no one came. After they did the tree, I got a rake and showed them how to rake off the loose pieces from the tree. They used a blower instead. There are pine needles all over the mulch. Then they got out the spray. They only used one bottle of spray, and it was quite small. I do not even know if it was the same thing I was shown during the estimate, as they came out within an hour of my calling. Needless to say, I will not be using them again and cannot in good conscience recommend them. As a resolution, a partial refund of about $100 would be appropriate, as they did not use two bottles of the insecticide. Second thing, they should send someone out who knows how to trim artistically to fix the tree, or refund an additional $50. Thanks to the customer service employee at Angi, I received a refund of $150 from Discount Tree Care, so I feel it is fair. They dis spray for bugs once.
