So far Compass plumbing has: split pipes in my en suite bathroom from a single to a double sink, moved water lines from the floor to the wall to accommodate a floating vanity, moved a toilet location in my basement, replaced a water pressure regulator that was causing water hammer, and fixed a leak coming from the line going to our fridge. I emailed the company, along with a few photos, to at least find out how to best deal with the stains and heard nothing back even after 3 attempts. Absolutely no response. Zero calls. Zero follow-up emails. The work quality and initial inspection/quote process of this company are great. The courtesy of their team members is great. The collateral damage, at least in my case, was substantial. Follow-up customer service after the job is complete is really terrible, as in apparently non-existent, and it will most definitely affect my willingness to recommend them to my contacts, even though the actual concrete repair was well done."

"Given that our 30-year-old old forced-air gas furnace was at the point to where we were getting a little concerned over its future reliability, we decided to have someone come out to have a look. Based on this family-run heating and air company's great reviews, I gave Apple Aire the first shot at the job. And then, upon meeting and discussing the issue with Shane, we decided to look no further. Shane Terry, fourth-generation member of the well-recommended team, came out to our house for a thorough inspection. Noting the scaly residue outside of the heat exchanger, along with a couple of hairline fractures in the exchanger itself, he recommended replacement. Even though the quote was quite reasonable, I was somewhat reluctant at first but, all things considered worry over failure at the least opportune moment, along with other factors, we gave Shane the go-ahead. I liked it that he did not try to sell us up to a more expensive high-efficiency model (which I already had in mind). To the contrary, Shane explained that the extra expense and materials involved (would require a nearby floor drain, for example) would offset any future heating-bill savings, in our case. So we went with the new 2-stage Amana (manufactured by Goodman). The heat exchanger on this unit comes with an amazing guarantee, by the way. This was a big job. The old furnace did not have properly vented combustion air, for one thing something of which I was already keenly aware. The only source of combustion air was from natural infiltration, such as leaks from the bottom of an old garage door. In addition, in order to continue to use our brick chimney for exhaust air, an inside liner was required. Hence, Shane brought three other crew members with him (in order to get the complete job completed inside of one day). Darrell, Dave and Chris arrived on time and hit the ground running (Shane, who was following up on another job, arrived a little later)! While Dave was working on the new venting and other ductwork, Darrel and Chris proceeded to dismantle and remove the old furnace. Before long, they had the new unit in place, and matched up to the existing heating and return air ducts in the basement. They also installed a new filter box, which makes essential filter changes a breeze! Before, I had to get down on my hands and knees on the hard concrete floor, unplug a few wires (cutting my fingers in the process) just to get to the filter. Between that, and stuffing a new one in place, without bending or damaging it, this did not exactly encourage me to change filters as often as I should! While Darrell installed a new digital thermostat upstairs, Shane was finishing up some furnace wiring downstairs. Then we went through a final walkthrough. These guys were thoroughly competent, pleasant, and overall great to work with (not that I did any work, myself!). The finished job was extremely tidy, and they kept things clean as they went. "Marc took care of repairing our sewer-line from our house out to the main. They did a method which I believe is called "trenchless" (though they still have to dig a large, deep hole to access the line.) They essentially feed a resin soaked liner into the clay pipe and then expand the liner and allow it to harden. This saves the owner from the large expense of digging up the sidewalk and street. We were impressed by Marc's thoughtful consideration of our project, the speed at which he moved our project along, the care he and his coworkers took in protecting our property (such as our concrete patio) such that we did not need to bare the expense of repairing that. The final cost was exactly what he quoted us. We were expecting to pay more so of course we were very happy with the price tag. Though we wish no one the expense of having to replace/repair their sewer-line, anyone who finds themselves in that situation would do well to call Schra!"
