Buyers beware! We had replacement windows installed years ago. Asked the contractor to let us know if any damage was seen. We were not notified of anything, assumed everything was good. Fast forward to now. Found a rot issue, accidentally, on our walkout basement wall. The living room, a large picture type window was bowed top and bottom filled full of spray foam. We removed the windows to repair the wall. All we asked Americas Windows for was to allow us to replace the frame not the entire window. They gave us an appointment for an **adjuster** 3 weeks out. He came looked at the windows, said he would see what could be done. Got a call this morning, **They cannot help us because we voided the warranty by removing the windows ourselves** Do not believe we were told that in the beginning! We spent $1700.00 on replacement windows. My opinion the wall had some rot when the windows were installed. The screws holding the track in place were screwed down so hard they went all the wall through the plastic, not aluminum, track leaving a screw in a hole that was not holding anything. Also, we were not told when the saleswoman came out that they would use unfinished square molding to fill gaps around the inside, which I still am not happy about. Bottom line their customer service is terrible. The screens are of poor quality as well, numerous holes from something outdoors. I had to call them back about 2 years after the windows were installed because my kitchen window, which is a large picture window type, was bowed to where I could not even open the windows. They did come and semi-fixed that. But I would advise against this company if you value your home and your hard-earned money.
