Reviews
Write a ReviewThe job was done with professionalism and before the proposed deadline. Will definately use this co. again!
From my wife, who was at home the first day: The crew of four showed up around 9:00AM and got to work immediately. After all of the preparation work was done, most of the day consisted of listening to loud jack hammers, which is unavoidable. The crew kept to themselves and the task at hand. I arrived home at 4:00PM to find the work crew standing in the driveway. Here's what I found: 1. They couldn't finish the job and would return the next day. They found during initial jack-hammering that the foundation was built in a way that the slab floor was 8 inches thick (block on slab construction) instead of the standard 4 inches (typical footer and slab construction). Completely understandable. 2. During their prep work, they removed the utility room sink (which was discussed and understood during the estimate) AND they removed a wall behind the sink that had been built a year earlier to bridge a gap between the sink/plumbing and the concrete block wall (discussed during estimate and understood that they were to go around the wall). Not happy with that. 3. During jack-hammering in the utility room, they accidentally severed the copper oil line that runs from the tank to the furnace. They repaired it with a coupling, but could not get the furnace to start again. I had to call my oil service company to send over a technician. The technician couldn't start the furnace and ended up having to replace the copper line and nozzle. The bill for that was $109.50. After talking with the owner and sending the invoice after the job was done, they paid it in full. The next day, I became a bit concerned when no one showed up by 10:30AM. So I called the company. Being a Saturday, I got their answering service. I left a message for someone to call back right away (no one did). A two-person crew finally showed up at 11:00 to complete the job. They had truck problems and had to get a different truck. The crew finished the job around 2:30PM. I did the final inspection and noted my concern on the paperwork about items 2 and 3 above and paid the bill. The crew then left. I was then left to clean up the driveway full of stones and concrete chips, as well as the garage, utility room and family room floors with the same. I wasn't quite expecting that, as I assumed there would be some effort at cleaning up on their part after the job. At a minimum, sweep the driveway of the stones and plastic shavings from the cuttings of the system pipes. Even with some of the things that happened, I am still giving the company and its product an A overall (if I could give an A- I would) because everything is working exactly as advertised. We have had several rainstorms since installation and the areas of the utility room that always got water when raining are now bone dry. So we are happy. The work crew gets a B because of the clean-up issue and a slight lack of professionalism. UPDATE (1/18/2012): After getting through the holidays, the owner asked us to get estimates to do the repairs for item 2 above. Those were sent and he agreed to cover all costs. We now feel the job is complete. Everything with the waterproofing system continues to work as expected. Not a drop of water in the house. We can definitely recommend and quot;I'm The Guyand quot; for basement waterproofing.
I'm The Guy offered fair prices and even accepted a coupon after I received their quote. Work was done quicky and professionally. In fact, our salesperson even moved things around to expedite the installation. This was imperative because a week later our area received 5 more inches of rain after Tropical Storm Lee had been through 2 weeks earlier. In response to this rain, the system operated flawlessly and kept our basement dry. Very satisfied so far.
I have to say -THE BEST - I am totally happy with a job well done - feel free to contact me any time - I can only HIGHLY recommend ITG ...simply - THE BEST !!!!.
The work was done as promised, The crew was very careful to cover carpeting and other items to protect from dust. The system seems to be working. I have only 2 concerns. The sump pump output exits my home at ground level, which may be a problem during periods of snow melt, as water may reenter my home through that hole. The cement covering the system in the floor is incredibly thin. Nailing or drilling into such thin cement when finishing the basement afterwards does not seem possible without damaging the cement.

We found water on the floor but will wait until it rains again. Then we will notify you.
The company was paid 14 thousand for the work. They excavated half the home and installed six anchor / lifts. Immediately the problems began. Each and every time it rained, water entered the basement all along the foundation that was excavated. I had the company back to review the problem and discuss a solution. All they wanted to do was sell me additional waterproofing services. I agreed to have them in to preform additional work. The work crew showed up started to work and within 5 minutes stopped, packed up their equipment. They told me with the type of foundation that they could not perform the work. I had the company return to discuss this problem. They attempted to sell additional services. By this time my confidence in their engineering know how had disappeared. I content that they should have known that lifting a subsurface, slab foundation would result in further damage and water problems. I hired a second company to excavate the foundation and install a drainage field to correct the water problem. It was discovered that two of the anchor / lifts did not have piping sunk to bedrock. These anchors were merely attached to the foundation. My recommendation is to avoid this company like the plague.
He was very professional. He inspected my foundation and let me know that nothing was wrong. I admired his integrity.
Great job and I haven't experienced any water leakage. The crew came in, they did a great job and were completed in one day. Would defintely recommend this company!!
