Reviews
Write a ReviewThey did a fabulous job ... they had to dig underneath the room to add another support beam and we were so happy to have that room level again! All this while I was working from home, in that room!! Only 'issue' was one of communication...I never knew when they needed me there (ie: to let them in to measure the room with the level)...I just happened to be home the main day they needed access, so it worked out in the end, just would have liked to plan things a bit better. They were very helpful when we had questions and overall it was a good experience. I would definitely use them again for any other foundation issues.
My house settled on one side due to the possible nasty characteristics of black clay soil and the builder not site compacting enough on the lower side with the fill.  My insurance company paid for a hydro test on the sewer line to eliminate a leak issue for the foundation issue.  Our water lines come in overhead.  A second test was done after the foundation lift to make sure no damage occurred from the lift. That test was on my dime.  I did my homework by reviewing engineering sites which evaluates different types of foundation repair services. I received 4 bids from contractors.  All had very similar elevation readings. Three of the four were similar in with steel pier repair and one wanted to use 6?x 12? concrete cylinders and pier the whole house including the inside by punching holes in the floor.  I visually saw all the Baird parts being used at a H&G show. I went with Baird. They could answer my detailed questions. November 3rd, Diego and crew began work.  Eleven pier sites were established and with the heavy duty brackets in place the steel piers were pressed down to a 24? refusal depth. A log was kept of depth and pressure readings during this process. November 4th, Diego and crew tied all eleven lift points together hydraulically and began the lift slowly monitoring the lift changes outside as well as Diego monitored the elevation read out changes within the house.  I witnessed the cracks in the ceramic tile and ceilings closing up. When the corrected elevation was established, the piers were locked into place. All soil was replaced and watered down to help settle. Area was cleaned up. We received 4? of rain beginning that night. The soil settled well. Diego and crew were very efficient from start to finish.   They really knew what they were doing. During the process the city inspector came by twice and the contracted engineering firm did a site visit and evaluation. Baird sent me the warranty certificate, the engineering report and the final detailed invoice.

As a Realtor since 1985, this is by far a superior company. Also, they did my house in 1985 and I haven,t had one single problem with the foundation .
All the workers were great and they worked their tails off doing a great job. Very satisfied.
John from Baird Foundation came to give me an estimate on repairs needed. He measured each room and also checked the entire outside perimeter of the house. He answered all my questions and explained the entire process of foundation repairs needed. He offered to make the same presentation to my husband at our convenience. John returned and again explained the process to us addressing all our concerns. He explained the difference between their steel piers and other methods of foundation repair. The work was started after the holidays. However, it had to be stopped because the static test of the drain system performed by plumber failed indicating one or more leaks under the foundation. The plumber recommended contacting our insurance company to determine if the work might be covered by our policy. I was told by insurance company to halt work until claim was investigated and processed. I called Baird Foundation to ask if someone could bring plywood to cover open holes until work could be resumed. They responded immediately. I contacted Amber in the office periodically over the course of several weeks to give her updates on our insurance claim. At long last, the engineer hired by the insurance company made his inspection and indicated to me foundation repairs could be restarted. I contacted Amber and their crew, led by Juan and Diego, came within a few days. Work was resumed. Crew was awesome, professional, hard-working, and superbly cleaned area after work.
The service has been great. They were always on time, and very helpful. The workers were all very courteous and professional. I would recommend them.
It turned out very well. I have had no problems since then. I had them put piers in several places in my home. After I had the piers put in I also had some cracks repaired by them.. Overall I would say they did a good.
They put in 8 or 10 piers. They did not explain things to me beforehand which I would have preferred, but I haven't had any trouble since they did the work. They also come back every year to check things out.
The work was good and lasted for a good length of time. However. I will need new foundation repair because of the drought season in San Antonio.
