Reviews
Write a ReviewThey came with the wrong materials and supplies. Blamed it on the manager. Would up creating a mess with no dustvac and got ZERO accomplished. I finally spoke to the manager and sent them home with two holes in my floor. THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND THIS WASTED A TON OF MY TIME AND I HAD TO CLEAN UP AFYER THEM!
We did not come with the wrong materials. We took out one of your tiles and found that the tiles were not installed properly originally. Whoever had tiled your floor put in 1/2 to 1 inch of cement under the tiles. There were 2 layers under your tiles. They troweled the bottom then poured the white travertine thin set over that layer. This made it extremely difficult to remove these layers. It looked like they used karolastic which is an additive to make this cement really tough to break. Our crew tried to explain this to you but you did not want to listen to what we found when we removed the tiles. They showed you the different layers. This is not something we would have known by looking at your floor when doing the estimate. It would only be seen when we removed the tiles. To add to that you purchased the wrong tiles to put back in. They were too thick. You wanted us to "shave" the tiles down to make them thinner as you said you did not have time to go and get the correct tiles. That is not possible but you refused to get the correct tiles. The situation was impossible as your floor was not laid correctly and you purchased the wrong tiles. We could not go any further as there was no cooperation from you at all so David told the crew leave. We rarely do that as we always try to make things work. Brian, who was one of your technicians, was a tile setter for 7 years before joining us. He does know what he is doing when it comes to laying tile.
Customer service was very good; quite responsive. But, the actual work quality was less than expected. If you have an empty house, this business is great. But the concept of having to move any furniture was met with resistance. I said I’d move the pieces (e.g. entertainment center, curio cabinet) because I wanted the tile beneath and behind done. I was met with solid refusal and “we don’t do that.” Same with the refrigerator ;that is on wheels), even though these areas were included in the quote and I was told they would be no problem. Areas that were done were fine but was overshadowed by the seemingly indifference to the customers requests/expectations.
I am not sure what happened on your job as we always move furniture. We will not move anything that has breakables on them and everyone is advised of that before we come. If you have a china cabinet full of China that will break when we move it, we will not move the china cabinet. As long as there is nothing to break when we move the furniture, we do that all day long. We move the furniture to one side of the room, clean that side and reverse it to clean the other side. We even have come back several days later to help homeowners to put back area rugs on their floors after the job is completed.
ON TIME AND VERY POLITE.
Very thorough and detailed in all aspects
I got prompt return to my phone call, was able to schedule a bid, and get the work done all within a week. I am very satisfied.
They were forthright in letting me know the outcome would not be perhaps what I was imagining (like brand new). Ours is a 1939 house with the tile at the same age. Yes, the tile still looks old, but CLEAN and old! They were very thorough in doing an initial analysis, spotting things I sure hadn't seen at first and were sure to only do what was necessary in their actual work.
There was a spot on the floor that was not completely clean, but there was no problem having them return to touch it up.
I never heard back from them. They came out and was on time which is why I gave them 2 stars. Then I heard nothing from them again. I always let people know when I am not able to do a job or at least follow up with a customer.
Holly, we sent you your estimate by email. I sent a follow up email asking if you had any questions. I did not get a return email. We assumed you were either reviewing it or did not like the estimate when we did not hear from you. We did send you the estimate promptly. I wish you would have called if you did not receive it, then I could have resent it. We always follow up with our customers.
Nice guy but needs to be a little neater.
They were here when they said they would be and did what they said they would do. That's all I could ask from a contractor.
