Write a ReviewPrompt response and very knowledgeable
Greg and Darryl Kaski, and the guys from Area Construction and Engineering are literally the best contractors i have EVER hired. The Job they did was a BIG job. We had to tear down an OLD 3rd floor brick exterior wall and replace it with a new wooden framed wall. They arrived early and stayed late to get the work done on time. They were clean and organized. They did demolition, framing, siding, gutters, installed a window, framed an area for a through wall AC unit and did every step of the job with TOP quality work. I cannot say enough about how great these gentlemen were to work with. HIGHLY recommended
Mr. Kaski was very helpful in helping to identify the problems and specific fixes I needed to know about before going ahead with my repairs/renovations.
I hired Area Engineering to do a structural inspection after I noticed a crack on the ceiling. The inspection was done by Mr. Greg Kaski, PE. While the inspection itself was reasonable, Mr. Kaski's behavior during his visit was not. Specifically, he spent most of the inspection professing his religious beliefs and (seemingly) trying to convert me to Christianity. Specific questions he asked me included "Have you heard of Jesus?", "Do you believe in love?", and "Why did you choose your religion?" Besides being completely unprofessional, he did not stop his badgering, regardless of how terse or evasive I was regarding the topic. For anyone wondering, I put up with his behavior for two reasons. First, he was charging me $400 for the inspection, so I wanted him to properly examine the whole house. Second, I figured it was a bad idea to piss off a man twice my size (petite female) when I was alone at home. Bottom line, if you are a non-confrontational person and would prefer not to be uncomfortable or intimidated in your own home, then DO NOT hire Area Engineering.
This is an intelligent woman who works as a professor at a local university. This public review is obviously very hurtful, perhaps that is why she didn't want to state her name. She certainly became offended by something, unbeknownst to me, and has made untrue and misleading comments. Let the reader understand, our inspection is not contingent upon a discussion about God, as she is inferring, nor did she state she wanted no discussion, in fact, after seemingly having interest, she discussed her faith with me. I let her know I am an evangelist and asked about her beliefs. She was actually open in explaining her faith, by my request, of which I
Very prompt
Engineer provided me with everything I needed to know about my newly purchased property and then some... money well spent! I recommend hiring these folks for at least a one time examination, even if you don't think you have a problem. You just never know what might be lurking, but they can figure it out easily and with explanation.
Very knowledgeable and did a thorough inspection. Provided multiple suggestions.
Inspection of townhouse structures is a common request. Many times the interior framing structure is somewhat linked yet still independent from the exterior structure system. Due to this slight disconnect, movement is often experienced between the two sections. This movement, though structural, is often not a significant concern with regards to safety. However, safety is not always the driving force for concern, many of our clients simply find that the floor movement, vibration, deformation, deflection, and squeaking noises, in their home are a little unsettling. To address these concerns, there are many reinforcement options.
gave a good evaluation of my problem.
We DID hire this engineer to come out and give us advise whether we had a serious concern or not. . He came and looked at our concern and told us it was NOT a structural problem. He said the wall was perfectly safe and if we wanted to fill in the crack, we could do it ourselves. The good news he gave us was worth his cost. He was also very personable and trustworthy. He could have given us a song and dance and charged a lot to do something that was not necessary but he didn't. We appreciate his honesty and expertise and are very pleased we chose him to call. We would definitely call him again..
Engineer was on scene in a timely manner and performed a detailed inspection of my problem, recommending possible remedies.
