Very happy.

We requested that Greg perform a structural assessment of our rowhouse. Over the phone he said to plan for up to three hours. When he arrived, he immediately made a comment about how he wouldn't want to live in Mount Vernon. It also surprised us when he asked where we wanted him to start, since we expected expert guidance from him. He looked at the outside of the house for a few minutes, then went into the bottom story where our tenants live. He brushed off one tenant's concerns about cracks in the walls, and very obviously noticed a picture of our (male) tenants together, who have been married for about 11 years. At that point, he almost immediately exited the bottom floor WITHOUT EVEN GOING INTO THE BASEMENT. He came up to the floor where we (the owners) live, and without looking at any of the other floors, proceeded to imply that our house is about to fall down and we should immediately start looking for a new place to live. He said it would be cost-prohibitive to repair the home, but when he gave us a ballpark figure (which it was like pulling teeth to get him to give), it was an amount many people could afford. We had to talk him into going to the other floors to complete the inspection, for which he still charged us full price, despite maybe 15 min of actual work. He never took any notes or measured anything. As he ran my credit card, he asked if we subscribed to the "family sacrificial plan" which turned out to be an extremist Christian philosophy (try Googling "sacrificial love"). We asked him to stop, which he did, and he left soon after. We found his behavior extremely unprofessional. Since we found it hard to believe that this minimal once-over is what an engineering assessment should consist of, we hired a different engineer for a second opinion. This engineer completed a THOROUGH assessment, starting in the basement, and recognized many issues but nothing that would cause us to move out immediately. This confirmed our suspicion that Greg was utterly unprofessional. His "services" were a huge waste of money and we not only didn't receive what we paid for, but we were approached with an unwelcome religious agenda.

Response from Company:

Interestingly, the person writing this review was not present during most of the assessment, although she infers otherwise. When someone is offended, words are misconstrued, falsified, or taken out of context to create great damage. As the gospel message in the other review below caused an offense, it has also offended this person, who in hearing one sentence about a Father who sacrifices His own Son out of love for us, His fallen children, couldn't hear any more. Yet, this is a gracious message- 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life- John 3:16'

Greg did a thorough structural review of a property i was considering. He explained his inspection and observations to me (not an engineer) as he was doing the evaluation in terms i understood. he sent his report within 24 hours. great knowledge and service.

We removed a load bearing wall. Greg came out to do the inspection and analysis necessary to have the correct beam size, length, etc. to be structurally sound. He was friendly, honest, and described what needed to be done should we do the work ourselves. We decided to hire Area Eng. for the work in addition to the analysis. Darryl is a great guy, and allowed us to jump in and help with the work to reduce the cost. We are VERY pleased with the result, and would recommend this company to anyone.
