The guys who came out were courteous and very knowledgeable. We appreciated the inspection and recommendations as to how we could and should move forward with our foundation issues. Their recommendations were sound and I think saved us from making some costly mistakes. Thank you Area Engineering. I would recommend your company with enthusiasm.

I basically paid $600 for a report that no one could have used. Companies I showed the report to told me it wasnâ t useless.

Response from Company:

This customer comment is basically misleading. The inspection went well and we provided the same service we provide to all of our other customers- Including our site structural observations, analysis, diagnostics, and recommendations. The site inspections are 450 and the summary letter is 150. She paid 450 for the inspection and 150 for the summary letter of our inspection. She did not pay for a report, drawings, specifications, or calculations. This particular customer had a collapsing exterior wall and sewage/stormwater coming into her basement from public sewer/stormwater lines backing up due to broken pipes outside requiring immediate rep.

Have proposal which easily confuses, also found confict of interest as they have their own construction company want make everything defective.

Response from Company:

This project pertained to two old decks on the property, flagged by the local county building code officials as being structurally suspect. This customer leases the property to tenants, so this became a difficulty for him. Despite our assessment, this customer did not agree with many of the observed structural problems and voiced his issues repeatedly as if to sway our professional opinion to accept the poorly constructed conditions. Unfortunately, a language barrier created a problem with this customer. He was not able to understand our communication, even though we thought it was clear, until after he hired us and we performed his work. We provided a discount for the services to try to accommodate him but he was not appeased. There is no conflict of interest. All of the problems were in direct code violation and are considered unsafe. We understand that he is not happy about it however this review is unjust. We have found that bad reviews are often written when a person does not receive the results they are looking for. This is one example. We still wish him well and have offered to help this customer with his problem by assisting him in obtaining a permit for his work.
