Working with 1st Rate Construction has been a breath of fresh air. Every contractor arrived when they said they would, and if there was any problem, Luke the project supervisor would advise me well in advance. For anyone that has had work done, this is a huge thing. This is probably the most professional group I have worked with, and the workmanship has been breathtaking.

This company did an outstanding job. They installed vinyl flooring throughout our entire home. Our house is a 20 year old pier and beam which required some work before the flooring could be laid. They had to level the house (which had been done by another company the previous year but had not been leveled properly). They also had to put new plywood over the original base flooring which was under the livingroom carpet when the carpet was removed. A couple of days after the project was completed, some of the flooring in the livingroom was starting to buckle because of the original bad base flooring. Luke assured me that this problem would be fixed and I'm happy to report that it was. Our floors are beautiful and make our older home look great! I will be using this company for my future projects and recommend them to anyone with a project that needs to be done.

Luke and his team did an amazing job on my house! They were able to redo all of the floors, remove wallpaper, texture and paint all of the walls, and handle all of the little issues that arose with a project so large. Their professionalism and confidence made me feel at ease! I am beyond satisfied with the completed project and will definitely be using them again for all of my future needs.

I'm very satisfied with my new countertops and work done by 1st Rate Construction. Once all the supplies came in the work was done quickly. I would recommend them and use them again whenever I have another large project.

Very unprofessional! The salesman quoted us a price that included everything. When the Owner arrived he said "That is not included" and tried to charge more. He and the salesman were not communicating and we were the people that it hurt. So after the 4 week wait for contact the price went up a first time. We agreed to a partial increase of the original price. Now the work begins and they do not cover the cast iron bathtub before tearing out the tile. The bathtub is now scratched so we have to refinish it. The work was done in 4 days for the first shower surround and looked ok. Atwo weeks later they. One back to do the second and the workers in our house were cussing loudly about the owner and about how bad he was with my wife trying to work in the house. I was not happy to hear that! They finished the second bathroom in three days. At this point we just want them to finish and leave. When they finish the owner comes to collect the final check. He tries to add more money to the bill saying now that more of the project wasn't included. We refused so he basically said we were trying to cheat him. He told me over the phone"if you can sleep at night after this then go ahead". This was the most unprofessional "pro" I have ever dealt with!! After arguing with my wife he left only to let himself back in to argue some more. I will never use them again and would not recommend this company to anyone for anything!

Response from Company:

Hello So I would like to contest this review by starting out as from the beginning I wanted to refund this individual back his money. I did not want to touch the job after I seen a few discrepancies on the contract. However this individual kept on wanting me to start. The original contract stated switch out cover plates for both tub surrounds. Never did it say to solder new valve assemblies and work out new plumbing. Once the customer told me I was supposed to do that I insisted to give him back his deposit and/or I need to properly charge him for that work to be commenced. He then agreed with a cost that he felt was comfortable. I still installed the valves Even under the clients terms just to get it done. I installed tile with a helper on first shower and was finished in 3 days. I then scheduled the other shower a week later. I installed tile in the other shower in 2 days and had two helpers grout it the third day. The wife of my client however did tell me about the lack of proffesionalism of the use of language my guys were doing. I already reprimanded and let go of one. I appreciate that feedback however the wife did not have to stand and talk to my guys for over 45 min about things not work related things. You may have to talk to her about that! As far as stratches on cast iron tub, the existing tile came out over an inch due to mortar backing and in order to take the old grout and caulking along bath tub we had to use scrapers to remove it. Thus leaving minor stratches. One other area of stratches concern was around the drain in which I kindly removed to replace with a new cover in which I still have not been reimbursed for. That was 65.00. Those old drains you have to really get under neath it to remove it. Nowehere on contract did it state to replace the drain. But i did it because the wife kept talking about it. The ENTIRE time she kept saying she was going to refinish the tubs anyways. Don't put that burden on me. Also.... part of the deal was I was going to install those two valves under his way of paying and I was going to save the receipts for reimbursement. He said he will not pay for them. I have recepits for 280.00. Includes the drain for 65.00. Once he told me he was not going to pay I did tell him I hope he does sleep good at night. Which is not even offensive. This man is a thief. Contractors beware of this individual. I will be reporting him to labor board as well. They'll collect for me. Thanks for all readers.

Please understand what you are getting and make sure that it is thoughrough and complete and seems silly to say but in writing.

Response from Company:

I really don't understand your comment however we met your strict deadline and put you infront of customers to keep your satisfaction. We even went the extra mile in purchasing the valve when you did not have the correct materials.
